Give yourself a few months, see other chicks, investigate some other croches and you'll quickly realise that almsot all highschool love isn't really worth anything. You'll move on, so will she, so don't go with some stupid mind games if you actually want her to be a friend for life, just be her friend. If after a few months you feel that you still want her back, then reinvestigate it then and set a plan in motion.

you're not going to get back together. don't even try. it's over. accepting that will lower the amount of time you spend in your underwear eating chicken noodle soup. it'll also help you still stay friends. unless you can throw out any sexual feelings to this girl, being her "friend" is going to drive you absolutely crazy. if you can do that and stay friends, that would be awesome, but not many people can so good luck.

obviously the faster you get with another girl, the better; even if shes a ho or something.

you'll be really uncomfortable when she starts seeing other guys (unless you get over her), and theres no way around that, so get used to it. just keep the feelings bottled up deep inside you, or you'll look like an asshole and no one will ever like you.

There is only one real piece of advice in this whole thread, and it's quoted above. The internet and internet friends are not the place to look for this kind of advice if you want any sort of subtantial help with your situation. Turn to your real life support system, your family, your friends, that care about you, have known you, and know the real you, and the real situation.

Yea this is pretty much the best advice on this thread... if you still like her, its tremendously hard to stay friends and you'll go crazy, I've went through it, and its not pretty.

To add to it the best thing to do is give yourself some time and DO NOT assume that you are going to get back together, in fact just accept that it's over and move on else it's gonna hurt more, easier said than done I know but still it's what you gotta do.

I had a "high school the only one ill ever love" relationship but it ended and it hurt like nothing else but life goes on. It's five years later, I finished my second year of university and I have a new girlfriend now that ive been dating for three months and ive never been happier. Reason being is that after you get out of high school and grow up some you realize what you're really looking for then you can find the girl who is the one that you're really looking for and you will be much happier.

So everything I just said summed up is take your time and realize what type of girl you are really looking for and be goddamn picky about it so you make the right decision and find the girl for you. It took me 5 years to find mine.

Thanks wolf12!!! I've been talking to my friends all throughout today and I'm gonna get on with life. My ex and I are still gonna be friends, but just that. The scars won't heal but I just can't stare at them and get old. Who knows what the future may bring? I'm gonna stay single and finish up finals next week. The summer will be a good time to start the dating game. Maybe I'll get back with my ex, but probably not. There's many more fish in the sea.

Even though it might be hard to do I'd suggest you stop trying to get her back. If she later on decides that she wants you you can think over it again. If she doesn't want you back you'll save yourself from a lot of heartache if you stop trying. IlyaZ' post is the best one yet.
