I dont see how, even without or long before any evidence one easily could just tell its genetic. people just dont like it because it reduces humans to a biological machine, and its something out of control (currently but not for long). It makes them uncomfortable. Criminals are genetic/biological too, how do you like the thought of that? guess if a crime happened to you, you could think of it as a tragedy, like a tornado, or earthquake.

not everyone is capable of violence, therefore everyone could be incapable of violence with the brains of the nonviolent as a model and show of possibility. really, only one person possessing an attribute shows its possible for all people. think about that. for example: if there is one person on the planet who is the happiest, most euphoric, functional and motivated person in the world, then every person in the world could be at their level with those neurological factors reproduced in everyone. that is not to say that it would eliminate diversity, only reproduce those raw underlining attributes.

wrong, tone, you are forgetting about structural functionalist placement in society and the society factor. it is a well known fact that violent crime is higher in those less privileged. are you to say that coincidentally those in the lowest social standings also have the genes for violence?

No Tone, what i will say is that there is a biologically governed mind state factor in violence and it is the most important factor by far, if it wernt, i think we would see an even wider gap in societal placement and violent offenders. the social standing only agrivates a potential into action slightly more. enactogenic drugs demonstrate how imporant the biological factor is and what is possible

While this is possible, it does not sound like fun. If you think gay people can 'force' themselves to be straight, then why not try it the other way, 'force' yourself to be gay? I don't think it sounds like a lot of fun... I'd be far too uncomfortable.

I believe the main factor is genetic, with maybe a bit of the growing up environment having an effect. I don't believe choice comes into there at any point. I didn't choose to be turned on by naked women, just like gays didn't choose to be turned on by naked men.
