On topic, I'm not an evangelist, I really don't like to force my opinions or beliefs upon anyone because I know how frustrating it can be. However, when christians spread the word, they're not doing it to annoy you, they're doing it because they believe they're saving you, which is where I come into conflict with myself. I guess I sort of believe that people won't listen to the message unless they want to hear it.

EDIT: I can now post on the forums, they manually allow each user to post after they have registered. I can imagine why.

Well put! I think that would go for anything that anyone is trying to sell or push upon someone...even if it is not relegion.

They are trying to stop the teaching of evolution in a school district not far from me & I found it flattering to hear that the local Minister stand and speak on the issue noting that Sceince should remain science and not have creation play a part. Creation should be discussed upon a class called "Relegion". His statement noted that a class of this type should also discuss all world relegion's basis, origin's and lifestyle's to make everyone aware of the cultural and relegious differences in hopes that a tolerance and understanding of those we live amongst can get along better and have a greater understanding of one another.

Not to shabby a word to come from a man of the cloth's mouth....am so tired of hearing how creation should be part of science and that evolution should be striken from the books....this guy hit it on the head when he noted the differences and how they should be discussed in an educational manner.

On the other side of the coin, in many gaming communities, like it's true in this one, there is a bias against those who are religious. Religion seems to receive more criticism than it should be due. Just by mentioning that one is a Christian will bring flames from several people. For that reason alone, it shouldn't be a surprise that there are online communities out there where people won't have to worry about that. There are online communities for all sorts of beliefs, associations and groups out there. I don't see how a Christian gaming site should be viewed as any different or even "pathetic".

I admit I don't play this game anymore, but I at least don't see too bad of a bias towards religious people at these forums. Sure there are a couple of emo "rage against the machine" posters that get their jollies off of raggin on Jesus and the government, but I would hardly place them as the majority. I could only understand mentioning your religion bringing flames, if you did so in a condescending manner ("Jesus likes me, you're going to hell heathen, haha"), or if you used a belief held by your religion as your only opinion on a matter (I'm christian so I have to hate all gays. Sry guys =x! " ). I would only see a christian site as different because they put the theme that they are christian. I wouldn't look down on them because of it, but I'm not going to ignore a subtle difference when they put it out there like that.

How welcome do you think I would be as a member of one of the christian boards, when I truthfully believe that each person has an inalienable right to decide their religion or lack thereof for themselves? How long do you think it'd be before they were the ones flaming me for my lack of suckling at Jesus' tit? And that's if all I ever did was say "No, I'm not Christian."

Hopefully it wouldn't really matter unless they were talking about Jesus in every single topic. Then again if you didn't like christianity, I wouldn't see the point in going to a christian-themed forum. Not saying you shouldn't go, but it's like staying out of swimming pools if you don't like to swim. Why go if you aren't going to enjoy hanging out there?

I'm cool with their unity as long as they're cool with my personal beliefs, as well. The only problem is the bible instructs its followers to recruit, and some take it to the max extreme.

However, some Christians are respectful of other people's beliefs. They give it a shot, and if you're like..."Thanks, but no thanks", then they're like, "Cool, I tried", and it's the last time it comes up. I very much respect those types of Christians, because the respect is going both ways.

But its when people start crusading against gay marriage, for religion taught in public schools, against contraception and sex ed, etc. That it gets annoying. As sarien said, the militant church groups.
