point is why have celebraties endorse your bid and bring them along to make a speach? Will it be the celebraties like beckham doing the catering , fianancing and transport arangements?

isn't that what a bid should be about? and not about the glamour and celebs you can get at your presentation.

I'm certainly not an expert at organising an Olympic bid but while David Beckham probably won't be doing the catering, they also probably didn't designate him the task of doing the catering in the first place. While the role of many celebrities was to raise the profile of the bid - and thus highlighting the key points within the bid - it also serves to reinforce the idea that each country has the sporting pedigree to stage the country
