Worst noise ever

Hearing your mom have sex is probably the tip top for me. The shovel, drill, all that stuff, I'd rather listen to in headphones for a half hour. The only way it could be worse? Getting up late at night for a drink of water when you're 11, and not only hearing them, but seeing and hearing your mom and her boyfriend in the living room.



The tiny snippet of dirty talk I heard was probably the most damaging thing of that experience.

Sounds usually don't bother me.

However, there have been two times where sounds drove me fucking crazy. They were both voices, and when these people spoke, I could feel my inner ear just start to ache, and then I got the worst headache ever. But it all ended as soon as they shut up.

One was a girl in my sociology last year class giving a presentation. I got up and left. The other was a guy talking on some NASA news conference a while back. I changed the channel.

But the thing that makes the worst noise is when someone tries to cut in polystyrene, nothing beats that sound, some of you are sissys, nothing beats this sound.

- Disco music or whatever they play on the NRJ radio station is pretty awful for me. It pisses me off.

- The sound of drilling a concrete wall while you're trying to sleep in the same building. They've been doing some repairs to the balconies and the facade (sp?) of this building and they've started drilling at 7:30am every morning this summer.. Well not at weekends though, phew. For a couple of days they also had this huge hammer which they used to hit concrete pillars to the ground or something and that made a nasty voice, the walls shook etc.. I've been doing the evening shift basically the whole summer so I've been trying to sleep a little later than 7:30am.

- Some music records have a silent minute or two in the end and then some awful noises. I don't know if it's supposed to be funny, but I hate these 'secret songs'. Like the Yellowcard album I listened the other day. I don't wanna take a nap while that album is playing, it would scare the hell out of me.

- Snoring. Once I was at a student trip and we all were sleeping in this huge room with our sleeping bags. There was probably 30 people and I haven't heard so much snoring ever. This other time I got into jail for drinking too much and half way through the night they brought in some guy who was already snoring when they brought him in. I couldn't sleep a minute after that.
