np it's not like you ragged on it for pages and pages. I just ate some cherry pop tarts. Don't know why I added that but I did.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I don't know much about the USA-Venezuela situation Marduke but from what I've read they're not happy with the USA for not silencing anti Venezuela Communists in the United States or with the demand for a majority of its oil.

It's basicly the Democratic vs. Communism thing again and Pat Robertson wants President Hugo Chavez killed so Americans wouldn't have a problem with procuring oil from his country. There's no other reason he stated for doing it and if he supported terrorism, attacked another country or was comitting genocide and you want to write off a justifcation for assassination for that then 99.9% of the world wouldn't care.

It's wrong no matter how you put it. This man calls himself a Christian yet preaches hatred, violence and unrest within his own country. This is a tactic of the extreme fundamentalist right to stur up emotions in Christians for politcal gain by making it look like their religious freedoms are under attack. In reality the seperation of church and state is under attack and the state is losing, a lot.

Again, as LB said in his first post, let's also not start making the mistake of believing that all Christians listen to or agree with this guy.

I don't think he's intelligent, I just find it sad that some people actually look up to and respect this nutjob.

whats crazy is, if you start researching some of the things he's said over the years he sounds so fucking crazy, you become surprised anyone listens to him.

theres a long list of really weird shit he's into. he's urged the followers of his 700 club to pray that hurricanes miss his virginia hq's, on several occaisions

his prayer offensives against supreme court judges, implying he'd like to see liberal judges dead.

he supported charles taylor, liberian dictator, arms smuggler, war criminal, thug, when W wanted him out because he was a baptist minister (and because he had large investments in a liberian gold mine). apparently its ok to assasinate democratically elected presidents but not oust totalitarian dictators.

Along with jerry falwell, he blamed 9/11 on gays, feminists, heathens, etc.

He thinks theres a conspiracy organized by jewish bankers and freemasons to destroy western civilization.

And i vaguely recall something about, how he started the family channel and his christian broadcast network through charitable donations. Later he sold the family channel for 90 million dollars, and pocketed it.

Finally every time i see his program, he claims that god speaks to him personally.

Oh, how the people love their extremists.

It makes them feel smart and superior to know their insecurities are "correct"

tsk. No-one here will ever respect him, I doubt anyone here could even understand someone who respects him, knowing all that he has done and said. He's either a Nutjob or a charlatan, I'm going with charlatan as its a more accurate title. Extremists give religion in general a bad name, which is a pity.

Yeah, I wasn't even aware of this USA-Venezuela situation as well and surprised to hear what Pat said on the news.

He has the same mindset as Eugene McCarthy, I think thats the guy's name who did those Communist Witchhunts in the 1950s.

I agree, wrong to say all christians go along with what Pat has to say.

I'm just saying some people say to be a christian you have to LOVE. But love doesn't mean you have to be a fool and let your enemy walk over you.

I just said before, its good to communicate with your enemy and try to find a peaceful solution, before taking violent actions.

But we all know in the real world, humans have always went for power to maintain their survival or to fancy their pride.

If there is enough resources and wealth, then everyone should be happy. But there is some powers/people in this world who want more than that, they want to control people and will do almost anything to achieve this.

What's most crazy is the idea that a freemason would caught dead talking to a Jew.

No one is saying you have to love everyone Marduke but wishing for the death of anyone or taking unprovocated acts of violence is NOT what it is to be a Christian. Even then causing the death of a person is a sin, you can interpret or bypass it all you want but it is pretty solid. I'm not part of the religion but I know enough about it.

Just as a follow up, which I'm sure most of y'all have already heard, the following day that Robertson made these comments, he received a shitstack of criticism from most of the major media outlets (CNN, ABC, NBC, etc.).

So the next day, Roberston made a semi-apology and claimed to have been "misinterpreted" by the media. Robertson denied ever having said "assasinate", instead insisting the phrase he used was "take him out", which could mean kidnapping, or some other method of de-installation.

Of course, the hillariously brilliant Jon Stewart had to call bullshit on this asshat, and here's a link to Comedy Central's website where if you scroll down to "headlines" and look for "Pat Sounds", you will find a clip of the Daily Show that the segment appeared on.
