Thing is, I don't know of any asian actors that would serve as a role model to asian teenagers. Jackie Chan, Jet Lee? Come on, the characters they portray, or should I say the attitudes of such characters will not land them with women. Too traditional, too polite, too meek. Even if they can kick 85 guys asses, they aren't seen as sexual objects, as sexual partners and thus won't work well as role models if the asian guys want to get laid.
Exacly!
That's why i point it out has a reason...
White guys have James Bond...
Asian guys have Jacky Chan...
Asian guys got the shaft, then. Go ahead Blanke, be a role model for your fellow asians. I remember seeing somewhere, a quote talking about " if you want to see a change in society, become that change". Don't wait for others, or some random guy to become a role model to show other asian men how to score with the ladies, become that guy. Not saying you have to make getting chicks your sole purpose in life, just try more and eventually, through repetition, practice etc, you can be better with women and inspire other guys in your boat to strive for better. You might never be an actor and show millions of asian guys how to do it, but changing one life is all you need to do.
I know saying " go score with tons of chicks" is easier than actually doing it, but just don't give up. Practice makes perfect. You're going to mess up, just take into account what you do wrong and adapt.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.
You'll hear my name one day on the news, and you'll think, "crazy asian, what are you doing on tv."
Then, I'll stun you with "It's all thanks to a guy called Liquid Blue from Continuum."
Then you'll ask for some autographs for you to eBay because you'll be poor from playing continuum all day long.
lol all that except the last bit. I tried SS out for the first day in about 7 months on labor day, still boring as ever. No thx.

Ironically I came to the board around the same time I stopped playing. How did I stop? Got hooked on an MMO, quit that, SS never seemed the same. I went back to the MMO but SS is just bleh =(

Chow Yun-Fat is the closest Asian actor to meet those requirements but he, along with most Asian stars, are much too old to appeal to a young audience as romantic figures. That's primarily because they don't cross over into the west until they've already built up successful careers in the east. To them, it's not a matter of "finally making it big in Hollywood", but more of "I've done all I can here, let's try doing stuff there for kicks". Chow Yun-Fat has the grace and dignity and sheer presence that might appeal to older female fans, but in his mainstream North American career the only role he's had that puts him in that light was in a remake of The King and I, Anna and the King with Jodie Foster. You could make a case for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but that was a purely Asian creation that managed mainstream success, not an actual Hollywood-mainstream film.
I can only think of someone like Andy Lau who, though like the others is somewhat older and already well established in Asia, could have that kind of crossover appeal to a younger western audience. What is needed is a breakthrough North American produced Asian star, but culturally and historically, progress has been stunted. It might take the efforts of someone like John Cho to establish a comedic representation first.

Andy Lau was the lead of Kung Fu Hustle, right? He had a special on Comedy central and i only heard the commercial, but he spoke english? surprised me.
John Cho is his name. I didn't mean harold from harold and kumar, but i must've kept on typing my thoughts lest i lose them. John Cho=hilarious.
Edit:He was hilarious as a dumb asian in some sitcom from a few years back, but in harold and kumar go to white castle he wasn't allowed space to act like his crazy self.
Can I share a random story that sort of has to do with this topic?
<random story> Today on the bus I saw this really hot Asian guy that was an exchange student from South Korea. Unfortunately he's not staying for very long, so that burst my bubble really quick. </random story>
Ok thanks, continue with the smart discussions

See? asians can be deemed "hott" too.
Thanks for making this thread a forum topic, not a conversation between 2 or three people lol.
Any other stories would be appreciated, only if they kept the peace though

You're thinking of Stephen Chow. He wrote, directed and starred in Kung Fu Hustle as well as Shaolin Soccer.
Well I think that lots of asian guys are hot, am I just weird? If I think of any more stories like that I'll post them; sharing random stories are my specialty.
