Well not exactly eliminated, just transformed.

transformed into energy, perhaps. But it is no longer the electromagnetic wave that is known as light, even if it still exists in potential (as the energy of the particle that absorbed it). Anyway, if you really wanted to prove it, you'd have to say what you mean by 'eliminate', 'light' and 'intelligence'. (intelligence can arguably be eliminated... stick a bullet through your brain, and you will surely lose some intelligence.)
