    Thread Where I say I just watched Apocolypse Now! for the first time and am in awe.

    HOLY shit!

    This movie is so beautiful. It's amazing that the film can be about such an ugly thing, yet look so fancy.

    I also read Heart of Darkness recently, and lemme tell ya, I think Coppola did a good job of mimicing it.

    A close runner with Platoon and Full Metal Jacket for my fav. War movie.

    Brando should have had more time in it, I wanted it to be more about them two than about the trip and the capt (don't know names, last time I've seen it was few years ago at least ). This way you just got to see lunatic side with the cult.

      I take it you know just about all of Brando's dialogue is improvised. You can see Sheen floundering around him as he wonders where the script went. I don't think Brando won many friends on that set

        FMJ still is better, but this is an amazing movie none the less.
