My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Whoa i never knew there was a serie made from that. Maybe now George Lucas will make more episodes, i still haven't watched the last one though but they had awesome special effects, but it was just that -_-A kiss is a rosy dot over the 'i' of loving.

^ you SO got star wars confused with star trek (dammit dude posted above me)
id say star trek is 30% as nerdy as anime, and 55% as nerdy as rpgs. so from my perspective, watching star trek makes you way less nerdy than most people on these forums. at least its old school.5:gen> man

I mistaked it for another sci fi series... anyway what kind of serie has enough episodes in order for you to spend like 2500 dollars in it?!! Is it like "Friends" with 10 or 11 seasons? maybe more!?
PS: If you want it that bad, buy it appeal to the little consumer that lives inside all of us ^-^A kiss is a rosy dot over the 'i' of loving.

I would add, to anyone who feels obligated to comment on other people's priority (like 'get a life'), that I am an older person who has worked hard in his life to make the free time and money that I have. So bottom line is that I HAD a life and NOW am able to enjoy what I have left.
So to anyone who wants to say 'get a life', stfu, get off the PC, and go make your own life before being so fucking presumptous like you know how to prioritize everyone's else's life.

But all you really need is this: TNG from season 3 or 4 onward, all of DS9, and Star Trek movies 2, 4, 6, and 8. That's all the good stuff (IMO, of course).Last edited by Saturn V; 11-09-2005, 04:03 PM.Ferengi Rule of Acquisition #98: Every man has his price.

Yea, I'm a Next Gen fan. But I really didn't get into any of the other series'. I just thought Picard was such a perfect character for that type of leadership position, and all the other characters seemed to be a very complimentary fit.
The acting was pretty darn good (for the most part), but the science part of the writing was awesome. I really got a second appreciation for it recently after having taken a couple anthropology classes. When I saw re-runs, I noticed so many phys. anthro references thrown in there. Very good stuff, even 10 years later.

As to the original poster, no it doesn't make you a geek, it just means you REALLY like Star Trek. A friend of mine paid $600 for all the Babylon 5 seasons... but then again he does look really geekyLast edited by Eric is God; 11-09-2005, 05:40 PM.

Wow I've never met anyone who thought DS9 was better. Almost everyone I know who likes Star Trek in real life agrees that TNG was the pinnicle of Star Trek (with the other series basically recycling a lot of plot ideas).
Anyway as cool as this is, I wouldn't want to spend money on DS9, Voyager or Enterprise. I'd rather buy this instead:

Originally posted by Eric is GodThe problem with TNG was that there were not many ongoing stories (save the Borg, Q and a bit on the Klingons and Romulans) and even those only lasted a handful of episodes. Most episodes were independant of the others. DS9 (especially after the first 2 seasons) on the other hand had a major ongoing storyline. It also had huge battles involving hundreds of ships and the space station itself. In TNG the most they could pull together at once was like 40 ships to fight 1 Borg Cube or 25 ships to fight the Romulans. I think most sci-fi fans enjoy the large battles more than anything, I know I do.
Meanwhile DS9 was just a soap opera in space with some TNG plotlines recycled. The large battles didn't even really start until after Roddenbery died, and I think it's because while he was alive he would never let Star Trek turn into a show about having huge battles, because that's not what Star Trek is about. If I wanted to see huge battles, I would watch Star Wars. Star Trek is something more than mindless battles.Epinephrine's History of Trench Wars:
