I think it's harder to perceive when you don't KNOW there's a hidden message. When I saw it the first time I was just like "ummm flowers!" but when I saw the more obvious version I was like "OH"

It all depends on what you look at first, I reckon.

First time I saw the flower pic, I looked at the top-half first, perceived flowers and then assumed it was all about flowers from then on.

Second time I had a look at it, I looked at the bottom-half first and thought: It says SEX in really large letters.


For these things, I think it's largely random how you perceive something initially, and if you're lucky you'll have perceived it correctly in the first place by being fairly lucky.

uhh i just direct connected to someone on AIM and showed them the pic, they couldnt see it, i showed them the answer highlighted and yellow and they still cant see it. the word sex is so bluntly BOLD and sticking out hardcore on the original picture let alone the highlighted yellow one. i cant image having that kind of very low visual perception. unbelivible

I thought the only thing the that was the birds, and the bees pointing to sex, but in the part at the bottom of the plants it clearly says sex. Took 15 minutes, but hey I figured it out.

edit: fluffz if you see this look carefully at the bottom part of the flowers. In the first two flower's is the s, second and third flower has the e, and the third and 4th flower has the x.

when i first saw this pic in a book of mine (the original one above, not highlighted), i didnt know it was a subliminal, i thought "what the hell is this sex pic" then i read the caption and it said only 5% of people can see the subliminal immediately. i found that hard to believe since the SEX was blaring out at me so obvious, it didnt look subliminal at all to me. but i showed the pic to many and they could not see it!

It was the 'bird' and the 'bee' that gave it away.
