We have already altered the genes to countless animals (sheep, cows, pigs, god knows what), and long before that, plants. I don't think it will be hard to find the gene which makes the whale grow, and extract it somehow, the reason we haven't done it yet is because no one have bothered too.

About Belgian Blue, we've altered the genes to those animals, but i think there was something with them in the first place. (Those animals aren't forbidden in some countries for no reason).
