I've been to CAD, somethingawful, fark, almost any forum you can think of and I've always preferred this forum out of all of them.

I think there's a great mix of funny, smart, and mature contributors here. There are a lot of creative, funny and artistic people here like IlyaZ, Blue, and PH. There are many more, so plz don't feel bad if I didn't mention anyone specifically. I honestly don't mean to exclude anyone, just make an example.

I think it's because of the spaceships, too. I think it gives everyone something in common, something that requires a bit of practice to pick up on the lingo and inside jokes. So, I think from member-to-member, I think there's an underlying sense of respect that would be absent than if we all had nothing in common.

Also, the trash talk is reserved for a seperate area of the forums that you can either choose to participate in or not. So, there's not that much shit-talking, except in Tone's threads.

Lastly, but most importantly, the moderating is exceptional. I've been to other forums where the moderating is inconsistent, the mods are 16yr old immature powermongers, or the mods clearly play favorites with veteran members. I can't recall anytime I've seen Zeus, Conc, or Kim pull powertrips, be hypocrites, or play favorites.

More like Are We (the audience) Touched Yet? The answer is yes. 5 stars our of 5, Ice Cube delivered a brilliant performance and that other guy who's career hasn't been successful was alright too. How could you not like Somethingawful over these forums? Yeah, I still browse these forums, but I only come here originally to look at any TWL updates, and then I see some smart ass comments on GD and TT and head there. Talk about close knit? SA does so many things together other than just chatting, there are so many people that have been there a while and know one another personally. Yah, it's a larger community, currently the 6th most popular forum online, but they do so much, it's hard not to find your niche there.... as long as you stay away from the FYAD boys (GHB).
