The 360 power supply is almost as big as the Gamecube - WTF?

Also, a common thing I noticed with many 360 games is that there isn't any significant polygon increase. The textures are nice and sharp, but in some games (Quake 4) a rock still looks like a pile of random shapes rather than, you know, a rock.

And is it just me, or do the textures look out of place in Kameo: Elements of Power?

The power supply is huge, you're right about that.

I wouldn't worry too much about the polygons on the launch games, especially quake 4.

Yes, it is true that in Japan, Nintendo still dominates the market.....but that's in Japan! Their interests in games are much different than American's interests, so thus, many games made for Japan wont be made for America. The fact of the matter is this, games which are popular here in America (FPS' and Sports games, such as Madden and NCAA Football) are not going to be adapted to Revolutions complex controller. By losing companies such as EA, Nintendo will not be able to appeal to the mass fan base who crave games like Halo and GTA, not Super Mario Soccer or whatever the fuck they just released. Yes, Zelda will make some profits, but after the initial excitement over the original Nintendo games, Nintendo isn't going to have the staple crops provided from EA games to fall back on. And EA Games isn't the only company pulling out, Neversoft, creators of the Tony Hawk Franchise have also announced that they're not going to adapt their games to fit Nintendo's format. If Americans stop caring about the games Nintendo's putting out, and Nintendo begins to lose revenue in the states, then they're going to do just like GC is doing now, and stop developing games for the US. Nintendo is flopping in the console department, because they aren't producing the desired games, and are now beginning to lose ground in the hand held market, which they have dominated for so long, because of the release of the PSP.

So yes DTF, enjoy the new Zelda and Metroid games, but don't come on these forums bitching when Nintendo starts producing Pikmin 3, or Diddy Kong Racing, because if Nintendo wants to be so stubborn as to try a renovation which is inconvenient, then this system will fail.

I don't know where you heard that EA is pulling out of the Revolution. The only thing I heard about that were rumours back in September. Much later news from credible sources like this report from December say that EA not only likes the controller, they are already working with Revolution development kits.

Developers won't need to program for the motion detection features if they don't want to. They're making a controller shell with traditional button layouts you insert the Wand into. That's also how people will be able to play games from their older systems on the Revolution. Developers can still make games for the Revolution without worrying about adding programming for the motion controls.

EDIT: Dammit... there's a string of text in this post that the forum won't let me post. Give me a chance to change it a bit before replying.

talking about ps2.. I don't know about the rest of the world but the scandinavian first release 305004 or something like that (im at work dont remember edition number correctly) gets disc reading error's after about roughly 5k usage.. =P currently Mine only reads ps2 cd games and no dvds, I have one of those slim edition things tho, and it's perfect! and small!

Squeezer is wrong, EA are excited for Nintendo especially the new controller and are going to be developing games for the Revolution.

The PSTwo is very small, but I don't see the point, other than to shell out more of my cash for a system that I (essentially) already have. And plus, I've never had a space issue with my PS2.

Also - I got my PS2 in 2000, and it started fucking around with me 2003. I sent it in to Sony and they sent me a factory refurbished one for free. This one goes on the fritz sometimes too, but not beyond my ability to fix. If I pack it up and travel with it, I always bring my screwdrivers because I know I'll get Disc Read Errors when I unpack it again. Maybe the poor thing just gets carsick.

Even though EA isn't staying away from the Revolution, the company still wouldn't make or break the system. Now although I obviously can't give you a huge list of games that are coming out for the revolution, I can show you a couple that are coming out:

                    http://cube.ign.com/articles/621/621865p1.html

You might want to look at the game Killing Day, which will be a first person shooter- I doubt it will be the best game ever or anything close, but it does show that Nintendo isn't going to shy away from FPS's. Splinter Cell is also on there, which was more of a hit in America than Japan, iirc. So adding onto what Mr. Peanuts said, the revolution will have sports games, they'll have FPS's, and a good sleection of their top best selling series. Did you hear about Nintendo letting players download their older games (Nintendo up to n64, I think) , via a pay and play system? I don't know which games, but I'm pretty sure that will include hits like Goldeneye, Starfox 64, and Super Smash Bros- all big hits over here in America.

                    http://theconsolewars.blogspot.com/2...itles-for.html

Oo, looks like some sega / mega drive games might be showing up on the Revolution via the pay-play system as well. I know it's odd saying this now, but I'm not trying to sound like a fanboy, I just don't think Nintendo will do as bad as you seem to think it will.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

What says I'm not buying both? I'm not a fanboy. I know in order to play games with guns I'm going to have to buy an XBOX, so I did. I just love Zelda, Mario, and Metroid.

People have called me a Nintendo fanboy but I'm really not, I never liked Zelda and Mario got pretty boring to me.

I'd consider getting an Xbox 360 when more games come out.

I loved playing CoD2 on it in a game store but, its just the same on PC- no way I'm going to buy it for anything its boasting about right now.

That's what I liked about it. I can play PC-quality games on a big screen while sitting on the couch. And really I think it runs better on the 360 than it would on my PC.

You see, if I wanted to play mostly any of those games on a Big Screen HDTV, I would buy them/download them for PC, then hook it up to my DVI cable.

Yeah and that makes sense if you have a sweet pc and/or you enjoy upgrading and tweaking your pc.

For me, I'd rather just take the box that keeps working and plays every game that is made for it whether it comes out today or 3 years from now, plus I can rent games.
