  • Paintballing

Had my very first day of paintballing today, i have to admit it, i am hooked now.
Got shot quite a few times but not in the kill zones on body. Only 1 of the shots for about 16 that hit me hurt. The pain is mostly exagerated... it hardly hurts at all depending on the distance you are hit at.

Got about 13 people out all together from 6 rounds of games, we played CTF, Outpost and Hostage Rescue.

    We were using;

    Inferno Field MK II
    .68 Callibre
    200 pbs hopper
    Co2 powered
    Up to 5 shots p/s

£15 for half the day, including 200 paintballs and it was £6 for 100 paintballs and £3.95 for the grenades, which i didn't get to use as i am under 18.

I would advise anyone to go.. It's a brilliant day out and it's a pretty good adrenaline rush aswell.

    The gun i was using.

Hopefully soon, i'm gonna buy my own marker and mod it up for about £350.

Don't bother buying pro equipment as its extremely expensive, especially for a student. They don't give you the edge as all the guns supplied by the paintballers have sufficient range and accuracy, the only thing the pro guns can do is increase your speed of fire, and that'll only lead you to run out of paintballs quicker. Instead save your money for the day and buy extra paintballs. I've been 6 times in the past (never lost, high five someone) and I love it, but I also love my wallet. They usually give you bog roll and de-mister to wipe your goggles with after each round - stuff some bog roll in your pocket so you can wipe the paint off when you've been shot

Yeah, its a fun hobby, I really enjoy it, its a lot more expensive here at £35 for half the day, I don't know if thats because the quality they offer is better, it seemed really amateur to me, the markers were a piss poor and battered and so were the goggles. I used to want to buy my own equipment but I haven't been paintballing in a long time, so I guess buying your own equipment really should depend on the place you go and the amount you'd use it.

Save your money and play with a group of friends in the woods or a ditch somewhere. If you like speedball then u can always play under a bridge or build ur own field out of scrap. Once you buy your equipment, all you have to do is pay for air and paint. Air is dirt cheap and u'd have to pay for paint anyways

I've played speedball (three tournaments) and woodsball, and I enjoy both. Whatever you like. Two things I would recommend are A.) eye protection and B.) durable, flexible pants. Gloves for colder weather. And leave the safety on unless you want to shoot your gun off in the safe zone like a noob. :fear:

I've gone with my ex paintballing once a bit ago. I got like 12 guys with a rental against people with full auto/pro equipment. Its about the player, not the gun, definately.

                        Paintballing...
                        Well...
I'm a certified gun tech, reff, air tech, blah blah blah...

I have a few thousand dollars into my paintballgun in itself.
I play tournys, you name it and I've done it.
It's a very very expensive hobby, very addicting though.

I've reffed the tournys where they offer $275,000 in prizes and shit like that...
                        Pretty insane 'eh...
                        Great for a grounp activity.

It's not really an expensive hobby.

Unfortunately.. i think the place i went to doesn't allow walk-ons unless your a member, and even if you are a member you're not allowed to bring your own paint incase it is toxic.

I would only see it expensive when i'm at the age i am right now, (15) being as i'm not in a full time job or anything i don't really have £45 - £60 to spend every week.

The black grenades with the red tops are the newer ones, they are much better. These shitty green ones did jack shit from what i heard.

Wrong wrong wrong. Its a very expensive hobby, and you're just trying to justify you wanting to do it by trying to find a way around the obstacles that we've put in front you, even when you know deep down that what you're saying is wrong. Its a very expensive hobby, and if you want to spend your money on it then spend the money by going more often
