    Quotes about Fahrenheit:

The Fahrenheit temperature scale is "antiquated, clumsy, and still in use in only one industrialized nation in the world today--the United States."
Walter A. Lyons, Ph.D., The Handy Weather Answer Book, page 41.

The Fahrenheit temperature scale is "plain silly and it's cultural value [is] slim."
Neville Holmes, "The Numerical Dysfunction", Mathematical Intelligencer, 22(1), 2000-winter, page 8.

    Fahrenheit sucks. Gg.

Great, now he's taking the Tone route and pasting quotes from people nobody gives a shit about.

He deserves the same fate as Tone.

Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature at which book paper burns, so logically if we switch to Celsius the books will no longer burn. And that is where babies come from.
People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

You clearly are sick. Lets take your temperature.
Ok guys, I have five thermometers here, one with each different scale. Which one?

                  Exactly.

You CAN use different markings for different areas.

For science, there is no substitute for Celcius. Kelvin is perhaps the only thing I can think of that we would use in Chemistry.

For temperatures of rooms and of humans., I wouldn't want to use anything but Fahrenheit. 0 is cold, and 100 is hot. It's based on Human body temps, which makes sense.

                  Now if I may...

                      ...

It doesn't make sense as its not entirely based on body temperature. The 0 is an arbitary number, being the coldest Farhrenheit could create at the time. If it were possible and he knew about absolute zero he would probably have started his scale there.

Celcius uses the freezing and boiling points of water to set its 100 scale, that is something everyone can relate too and be explained easily.

Not "well human body temperature is roughly 100 and the 0 is the coldest temperature i could create."

No it doesn't make much sense at all...just you've gotten used to it.

                      • There is a scale using the fahrenheit degree starting at absolute zero. Not called fahrenheit tho, and its obsolete.

Not inside the human body, but how the human body responds. Now when I ask you is a 50F day is hot or cold, you can't be sure. It's because it's in the middle. It is based on a Human Body's reaction. Any thing less than 50 degrees F could be considered cold, and higher could be considered warm.

if you ask me what a 50F day is hot or cold i cant be sure becuase i've no idea what that is in celcius and i'm not about to convert it.

The 0 is completely arbitary it isn't based on anything in the fahrenheit scale the celcius scale makes much more sense logicaly and that is why Kelvin is based upon it.

Your used to the scale you learned and seen, tell me a temperature in celcius and i know if its hot, cold and how my body would react to it.

like i said its really easy. subtract 32 and divide by 1.8 or 2 if you want a rough guess.

50 - 32 is 18. and 1.8 is easy to divide into 18, it equals 10 C. but even if you did it by 2 it will give you 9 C.

1 degree Kelvin is like 1 degree Celsius you retard, its basicly the same.
Now stop whining and convert already, the science dropped fahrenheit some hundreds years ago.
