  • I like fahrenheit because it is more precise without having to get into stupid decimals or fractions of degrees. Plus, saying celsius is great because it is based on the boiling and freezing points of water is not a very strong argument because that has as much to do with pressure as it does temperature. If you want to deal with absolute zero as 0 degrees, you can use Rankine.

Plus, water is evil. Don't believe me?

Actually its still used in some branches of engineering. I'd have to dig out my textbook to find the particular problems, but its there.

Atmospheric pressure at sea level is constant (or near to) around the world, it dips slightly as you gain altitude but nothing much.
While its true that Fahrenheit has smaller divisions, I have no problem at all with decimals, in fact they provide great precision IMO. Fractions can provide slightly more precision, but honestly. How precise do you need to measure with a room or home thermometer, and how many thermometers does a layman use that are DIGITAL?
As for absolute zero, Kelvin is proferred because so many physical constants that contain temperature components, such as Rydbergs constant, are expressed in Kelvin (or per Kelvin in the case of Rydbergs constant...)
No, if you want to use absolute zero, chances are you're doing science, and you're not afraid of fractions, decimals, irrational numbers, imaginary numbers, radicals, etc. so you'd want to use Kelvin.

That doesn't make sense, because in my book 10 degrees Celcius is already pretty damn cold. Not somewhere in between. (ok it's not uber freezing cold, but I don't call 10 degrees celcius inbetween, I call it time to pull your sweater out of the closet.)

5 Degrees Celcius is 278.18 Degrees Kelvin.

You tell me that's the same, and I'll fucking piss in your mouth.

I said: 1 degree Kelvin is like 1 degree Celsius, did I ever say degreeS?

                Crack kills.

1 degree Celcius = 274.15 K. It's fact. Whatever you're arguing with DTF is dumb--you're wrong, admit that fact and you'll be better off in the long run.

Shit, another not-so-smart american is here to back up the retard.

1 DEGREE Celsius, equals 1 DEGREE KELVIN. When Celsius get increased by 1, Kelvin get increased by one.

1 DEGREES Celsius is 274.15, 2 DEGREES Celsius is 275.15.

Do you see something special? Exactly, Celsius increased with 1, and so did Kelvin. It increased with 1 DEGREE.

                  Degree, not degrees.

Now stfu and be dumb together.

                  • It was just that you worded it weird. A better way would have been that they go up at the same rate, as in if you increase a Celsius degree by one, the corresponding Kelvin temperature goes up by one too. It was just confusing the way you worded it.

Wether it's warm or cold is a personal judgement, it also depends on where you live and what temperatures you're used to.

10 degrees celsius for someone who lives in the cold/winter, is actually very warm, snow and ice would'nt be on the floor... swimming would be terribly cold though. Alot of people wouldn't even consider a sweater, most likely a t-shirt and a windbreaker.

10 degrees celsius for someone who's used to the hot weather/summer, would be very cold for them because it's much more of a shock. A sweater would be warn to warm yourself up.

:sorcerer: It's the laws of science, don't believe me? Here's an experiment everyone can do :
                      1. take three bols, fill the first with hot water, the second with warm water and the third with cold water.
2.Put your left hand in the hot water, your right hand in the cold. Leave them in for 1 minute.
3.Remove your hands and put them in the warm/room temperature bol. Notice how your cold hand(right) feels hot, and your hot hand (left) feels cold, when they're in the warm water?

Now let's get over w/ the temperature thing. Every temperature measuring device works on a different scale. Weather it's -5 degrees Celsius, 23 degrees Farenheit or 268 degrees Kelvin - it's still the same god damn temperature, just a different reading on each!!!

Obviously there is a language barrier here and the solution is simple: learn English. People in America speak English, America is the best, so therefore learn it or don't talk. Fucking Norweyan assfucks.

On a sidenote, how the fuck did an Asian like you get to Norway? Please ask your parents, I'm genuinely interested.
