To bad, Ive always loved to Lemieux play and just pwn, he is one of my fav. players of all time, where do you guys rank Lemieux and how do you feel with him retiring right now with Crosby in the mix? I personally think its better for Lemieux to retire now with his health declining, no need to suffer no more specially with the Pens not going anywhere for a lil while

I think it's a big loss for the NHL but a bigger loss for the Pittsburgh franchise. Not only does the marketability of the Pens drop slightly, Ziggy Palffy who I think was there second leading scorer retired a few weeks ago too. Even with Sid the Kid there, this could hurt their chances of getting a new arena and staying in Pittsburgh.

I thought Lemieux's prescence on the roster alone was enough to give the team some of that much needed moral support. Obviously now, Mario has other priorities than to assume such a role for the Penguins.
