In the uk besides the warning labels and the smoking ban in public places that the government have put in place, they still pull in alot of money from the sales of cartons of cigarettes,ALOT of money.

so i was just wondering what would happen if a government,any government really, decided to legalise say weed, but it was government controlled i.e they supervised the production and taxed accordingly, what would it be like? the government would have a new "cash crop" which they would tax, and enjoy taxing.

perhaps buyers would be safer buying from the local shop than a guy on the street.. i have no idea what would happen, just wondering, would stop people graduating up to harder drugs? meh....
