  • Blair to resign summer 07

So, what up with that? Is this normal for this to occur, or is it like the US president to resign? The article doesn't mention why (and I'm assuming it would be the same bullshit answer as usual: spend more time with family), but I'm guessing you guys know more than a San Francisco paper would.

Probably because David Cameron will win the next election

Well it's his third term IIRC, and he was supposed to step down a little while ago and let someone else in his party take over, but he decided not to because of the war (I'll let people from England fill us in on that one). I remember reading in the paper a little while ago him saying that he wouldn't step down right now, but would do so soon, in order for the next person in his party to have enough time to make a smooth transition into office, or something to that effect. According to him, if he stepped down right now his party would be split down the middle and never recover.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

He didn't step down because he hates his successor, Gordon Brown. He's also the only able cheerleader for New Labour left and realises it will be the end for that when he leaves so he's trying to make it last a bit longer and possibly catch on

Oh, ok. So it's not like he's doing something odd, or unusual.

He's not the most popular person at the moment either

So, in 6th grade we had to do this heritage project, and I came to find out that I'm related to Tony Blair. I'm his like 1 million and something cousin. The bloodline is very very thin between us.
