For me I run at closer to 110% effort on the court and physically being at 80-90% sucks major donkeys. At this point, I'm 30 and pretty much giving up on any thoughts of playing like I did in college. I know when you're 30 you're not supposed to play like you did in college with or without surgery, but well, I don't know what else to do with myself.

Sorry for the negativity at this point already- you don't need to be hearing all of this now. The truth is, aside from sports your life will be mostly normal after only 2-4 weeks. And if you really love sports you can work hard and get back to doing a lot of sports after a couple of months.
One word of advice: go with a younger doctor (or at least a doctor that knows the latest techniques and has the latest equipment). ACL surgery has improved a lot even in the past 5 years. My first tear was done by an older doctor with lots of experience but the amount of scarring, etc. screwed up my knee. My 2nd tear was done by a very good guy 3 years out of residency/fellowship and the incisions were tiny in comparison, the bleeding and scarring was minimal and the recovery was 2x as fast.
