Actually, you're not far from the truth.

It was the aliens/angels that visited the towns of humans requesting that a temple be built for them. In return, the promise of prosperity and protection from their enemies.

Ironically though, the first to organize a religion was the one God had banished from his homeland.

well, I gotta say that if you're still trying to convince us of your credability/sanity, this isn't a sound strategy.

It hadn't occurred to me that my credibility/sanity needed convincing, but then again, when has anything in the bible been considered credible/sane? I guess you could say that i'm the posterboy for the verse that says we're all fools for Christ.

My strategy, since you've mentioned it, is to plant seeds of thought in the mind. There will come a time in the near future when all I've learned and shared will come to pass.. and we people of earth, are gonna be in awe when that time comes. It's gonna be an overwhelming experience for all unprepared spiritually. It's the time that Jesus says, "except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Mt. 24:22) God has shortened that time to the last 5 months before the Lord returns.

Have you ever seen some program on UFOs and how in some historical paintings, there are possible 'flying saucers'? Or the special programs of giant pictures on the ground that can only be fully appreciated by flying over them?

God has given civilized man 6000 years (6 days to God) to work and record history. In those years, God has divided them by 2000 year periods or phases; symbolized by the life of Moses. Moses' life was also in 3 phases.
We all know about 2000 years ago was the ministry of Christ. Since then, it's been equivalent to the time of Moses (the High Priest) and the Israelites wandering in the desert for 40 years. Why? so they would forget about being cowards against the giants (the remnant of the hybrid angel/men) occupying 'the Promised Land'. The middle 2000 years, like Moses' middle 40 years, was spent shepherding the sheeple of Israel. Ending for Moses with him receiving the 10 commandments from God. Ending for Israel with God as Jesus paying the price for the sins of the world, resurrecting, then ascending to heaven in full view of any and all that happened to be there to see it. The first 2000 years, like Moses' first 40 years, was full of the paranormal coming from the Egyptian gods, and for the Hebrews and mankind in general, frequent visits from the heavens.

We today, with all our technology have forgotten the past and have written off most of it as inferior intelligence &/or superstition. It's my belief that everything in the bible was meant for this generation. All things in the bible are patterns of things to come, to warn us of the climax of God's plan for carnal man. Time will tell. Don't believe me until it happens.

          • so will that be before or after the angels/aliens come?

But seriously, get off your high horse with this martyr of knowledge bullshit. You came to this thread to alienate beliefs. That's exactly what your religion does. It prevents people from thinking. "Don't question existence, death, or human nature unless you want to suffer for eternity when you die! Instead, listen to this book, authored almost a millennium ago by numerous different people, with numerous different intentions and perspectives, edited numerous different times and lost a bit in translation. It will tell you how to live correctly....under our guidance and for a small fee of course." Sure, the intentions may have been right and I'm not going to deny that Jesus didn't have some rather wise things to say, but they were in fact no more important to humanity than anything written in the Koran, or the Torah. Nor are they anymore important than the words spoken by other such genius' as Aristotle, Socrates, MLK, Ghandi, and even Winston fucking Churchill. No sir, I do listen to Jesus, but I don't just listen to him. I consider the other views and opinions of fellow men and hold them all in the same esteem. None of them was any better than the other, no matter what any fucking book has to say. If that isn't considering the gravity of history, then what the fuck is. At least I'm considering the broad spectrum of men's vantages, rather than closing my mind to the view of only one.

And if that sends me to hell, so be it. I'm sure I wont be the only.

            • I don't think anyone's telling you that you can't believe that "the rapture" (or whatever you want to call it) is coming. You can believe that all you want if it helps you sleep at night. I personally think heaven is a chocolate train with a monkey conductor that farts lollipops, but hey, maybe that's just me.

But that's the beauty of free will and personal judgement.

That's what it boils down to--I'm not saying that you yourself do it (although the use of epithets doesn't really convince me), but people trying to abridge other's rights to free living. We supposedly live in a nation built on the concept of freedom, yet we consistently put more and more restrictions on our own personal freedom at the cost of an individual's beliefs. We've become a society of personal accountability babies, seemingly unable to deal with problems by ourselves--no, no... we NEED laws passed in order to legislate others.

It's just kind of bullshit. Maybe that's just one guy's opinion.

Freedom is supposed to mean Freedom for everybody. Even when you don't like them or know them or trust them or agree with them.

Well, you had the right idea. My generation needs to curb the old ideas of Party vs. Party and elect people willing to work for the greater good.

Actually, we have to get my generation to start caring first. We're too busy being comfortable in this style of living everyone's grown accustomed to, but forgot that it was our forefathers who worked so hard to earn it. Seriously, I'm ashamed at how self-absorbed our society, and my generation in particular, have become. We'd rather have our bread and circus TV shows than read an article and learn something useful, or bring about decent change in this world.

edit: By right idea, I mean't your comments on the other thread.

                  • I agree with you guys.
For me though, I associate everything with the bible. For some, that may be a stumbling block to really understand our common ground.

Democrat / Republican... on the outside they appear different, but in reality they're both on the same team. It's one authority playing both sides against each other.

The analogy.... Make more bricks with less straw. (*SNAP!*) goes the whip. "Get to work, ya wage slave!"

Preach it. So many kids in their early 20's that I know are content just to live in their parent's house, not vote and generally not give a shit about what's going to be happening in the future. To them, it's all about self-gratification, in the quickest way possible. TV and fast-food have fucked our country up beyond belief.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

But it is a very frustrating, and daunting task. For instance, I know guys that have very strong willed opinions about anything sports related, but could care less about politics. They know Kobe Bryant's exact free throw percentage to the fucking tenth decimal, but they have no idea that it is predicted that Africa will be completely wiped from existence in our lifetime. An entire race of people gone, and they want to argue about if Lebron is better than Kobe. Now don't get me wrong, it's important to have mundane activities in your life, but for christ's sake, at some point we need to get things done. I look around me, and I see a bunch of kids that are completely unmotivated to get anything done. It's really quite sad. For instance, back in school, there were guys that would watch sports, and read lengthy articles on various sports, but would shy away from reading the 5 or 6 articles assigned for us to read each week in Contemporary Problems. They were more than willing to give their opinions on whether to resign Shaun Alexander or not, but when we tried to have a debate on anything halfway intellegent, they would shy away.

But, I am working one at a time. For instance, when my gf and I were first dating (like a month in) we almost broke up, because I asked her if she liked Bush, to which she replied that she didn't. When I inquired her as to why, she said it was because he looked like a monkey. After which, I immediately jumped all over her ass for not having a legitimate reason for disliking him, and told her to get some better reasons. Now, we have constant debates on everything from Bush, to China's rising economy, to Iran, and everything in between.
