Pirates of the Caribbean 2*SPOILERS ABOUT*

Great movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another unmentioned thing thus far is the soundtrack...I'm listening to it right now and I must say, it's incredible. I encourage you all to check it out if you're into movie music or if you just like instrumental music in general. It's by Hans Zimmer for those who may not know.

It was ok. A lot less funny than the first one, but with an upgrade in action. I found Depp less interesting this time, and Blooms character still has absolutly nothing to him. Kiera Knightley is hot, she can talk proper to me anytime she wants.

All in all it was okay, maybe a 7, the ending was painful obvious, it really really was. Total setup for 3 which will impact how I view the rest of two. if three tanks, I consider 2 a tank too. Worth seeing, DOesn't have to be seen in theatres.

I'm surprised you found it less funny than 1. The comic relief provided by those two pirates from the first movie was great and the two chase scenes (from the cannibals and the waterwheel fight) were classic. I don't know how you could have predicted the ending with Barbossa coming back. I only figured it out 30 seconds before he appeared. Also predicting Sparrow's death would have been quite difficult given how often people seem to escape certain death in these movies.

How can the third movie effect your view of the second by that much? That's like saying Attack of the Clones was a decent movie because Revenge of the Sith was good.

I think the fact that Geoffrey Rush was signed to be a part of the two Pirates sequels, news that was released in 2004, sort of ruined the surprise of his return. Considering he wasn't in the first 150 minutes of the film, it should be no surprise that he'd appear in the last one.

As for how Barbossa could possibly return after being killed in the first film? My guess is the monkey had something to do with it. Remember how eager the witch was to accept it as payment from Jack? Witch + dead pirate's pet monkey = resurrected pirate.

I think he got up and grabbed a piece of gold after Jack shot him in the first one. That would be why the monkey was undead the whole movie. The only thing I see wrong with this argument is the fact that the two bumbling pirates (the one with the glass eye, and the angry guy) said they weren't immortal anymore, which I believe means they know the difference.

Guess I'm lucky I didn't follow any press about the movie before it opened. I hate it when plot twists are revealed ahead of time.

I saw it today! What a great movie!!! The only thing I 'hate' that there's an 'open-end', so we MUST see III :P

Well I don't usually care about reading who's in the cast and if I had seen his name listed, I just would have suspected a few flashbacks, not an actual continuing role in the series. Not to mention I totally would have forgotten about him halfway through the movie- he's not the type of character that I'm constantly rooting for and going " where is barbossa?".

They have to take the gold themselves to recieve the curse, right? I'm just wondering if the monkey might have given him some gold, or if he staggered up after Depp left and took a piece himself.

It's sorta like when she first learned how to tie her medicated shoe or put on her special tard helmet for the first time- for a breif period she actually thinks she's the first one to catch on and wants to share the news with everyone.

I can't remember the ending of the first movie in concerns to them, did they have the pieces of gold on them, or did they already return it?


All in all a good, entertaining movie. Kiera is a flighty bitch but she was pretty hot in that scene Z. Gophar was talking about. Will Turner is still pretty blank in terms of character but I guess that's because they want legions of their fans to be able to pretend they are Will Turner. Not many people can liken themselves to Jack Sparrow or Elizabeth, but Will is vague and open-ended enough for them to slip in.

because if u saw the Compass that Jack lent to Elizabeth; it said "it will lead you to what u want most" or something like that; and it pointed to Jack a few times.
