So lately, I've had a real jonesing for good action movies.

For instance, today I've watched:
Starship Troopers
Face Off
and The Rock.

So I wanted to know what, in your opinion, are some of the best/ your favorite action movies. My personal fave is probably Heat.

Fight Club, Heat, and The Matrix are my 3 favorite action movies. All have great storylines, direction, effects and acting---not just great action.

Well, except maybe not for Keanu's acting, but the supporting cast carries that movie.

About once a year without fail the BBC will show The Hunt For The Red October and Ronin and they're both on the same weekend this year, its like a repeat cinematic overdose

I didn't walk out but Trasporter 2 was absolutely horrible.

Except for the fifth element, none of those are action flicks.

Pulp Fiction, Snatch and Lock Stock are all dark comedies. At most there's like 5 minutes of action in each. When I think of action, I think of unrealistic violence...Not like the violence in those three movies, where death's and such are realistic.
