The 9/11 commissions report noted that there was no relation to the WTC and Iraq. We also found no WMD in Iraq...what was disturbing to me was that the U.N. was still doing its job in Iraq in monitoring for the WMD...Bush made the choice to use bullshit info to Invade.

Here is the worst part about this political structure in the States. These incumbents running in this election have been asked over and over again if they would back the president to invade Iraq if they had known today what they didn't know prior to the invasion. 90+% of them say they would still invade Iraq regardless of there being no connection to terrorism, 9/11, WMD....sickening isn't it. It's all about coporate interests and monies to be made from this war at the sacrafice of men and women in the military so some fat cat politician can be safe with his family at home.

GWB in my opinion is a f'n idiot; in Washington, you can’t expect any rationality. I don’t know if he’s in Iraq because God told him to, because his father didn’t do it, or because it’s the next step in his 12-step Alcoholics Anonymous program. The responsibility for the invasion of Iraq lies with eight or nine members of the administration who have a “neo-conservative agenda” and dictate the U.S.’s post-September 11 foreign policy.

You have a collapsed Congress, you have a collapsed press. The military is going to do what the President wants.

How fragile is democracy in America, if a president can come in with an agenda controlled by a few cultists?

There’s no reason to see a change in policy about Iraq. Bush thinks that, in twenty years, he’s going to be recognized for the leader he was – the analogy he uses is Churchill. If you read the public statements of the leadership, they’re so confident and so calm…. It’s pretty scary.

Well I guess it is obvious that I cannot stand this Idiot.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

History will not favor George Bush Jr.

        -He's a puppet president
        -He decimated our economy.
-Let umemployment reach a level not seen in almost 25 years.
-Cut taxes to create a larger gap in our population.
-Is more or less responsible for the shrinking of the middle class (for the first time in history).
-He has publically said he supports torture methods
-He's held thousands of POW's in a suspended state, denying their right to Haebeus Corpus
-Not to mention pissed off: The UN, the entire Middle East, Most of Southeast Asia, and almost all of the EU
        -He's started an unnecessary war
-Fudged up the health care system, and is very close to privitizing Social Security.
-Gas Prices have risen to the highest they've been since the 70's.
-He illegitimately won his presidency anyways.
-He's used his veto powers 1 time.
-He's done more to make our country a Party Vs. Party political nation, than any other President.

And he's sounded like a retard through it all.

Sorry for the lack of originality and order....I just sat down and listed everything I believe he's done wrong.

That is one of those things where someone said it while thinking other people would get the joke. Kinda like my weird 'calling all Troll Kings' comment a few days ago.

k, I didn't read the whole thread after the first post. but I did read something else Kerry said.

Something about if you don't graduate from uni and never learn you can become the leader of America, like bush.. (this is not an exact quote but it was something amongst those lines if I am correct)

                  IRT Gall:

Kerry making fun of Bush's education would be pathetic and hilarious. They both received horrendous grades in college on account of being dimwitted children of privilege.

                  IRT thread:

Kerry misspeaking? I CAN'T EVEN CONCEIVE OF SUCH A THING

The funny thing is Bush actually had a higher GPA than Kerry while at Yale. This is because Kerry had a bunch of Ds in his first year.

And yes it was obviously a botched joke, but it's nice that Kerry is finally speaking his mind. Maybe he's thinking of retiring after his term runs out or something so he doens't care what he says anymore.

Irony and wisdom are lost on the general public, people still cheer if Bush holds his 'we will prevail'-speeches, but they cry over a statement like this? Get a fucking grip assholes. Let's go on a holiday in Iraq when Bush is reelected, I bet it's a free country by now. It must be, because the oil output is even higher than before the war, that wouldn't be possible if there was a civil war going on.

Ok, the direct translation from the Dutch quote in the paper I read is:

Know where you end up if you don't study, if you're not smart, if you're intellectually lazy? Then you stick us with a war in Iraq. Just ask George Bush!

So it might just have been a really crappy translation from what LB posted.. not sure.

That was I guess sarcasm on my part Mantra...

Your correct as they are all the worlds problem, but there is no enforcement that tangibly has been effective for such chaos.

I am obviuosly not happy with the politics in my nation. It is all for corporate interest and not about or for the people as a whole...dreamer I am.

One thing that would be nice for Tony to do is to have Bush go along with the Environmental issues and to take part and sit and agree upon the protocols that have been set. That would give Blair his final good deed in office to the world and the U.K., plus it would force the U.S. to abide. After all the B.S. he has gone along with, it would be the least he could do in getting Georgie to put his guns down and clean up his mess.

The Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an amendment to the international treaty on climate change, assigning mandatory targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to signatory nations.

For such a simply put definition, doesn't seem to be a positive and healthy choice for everyone on this planet.

                            1. Kerry made an error in not expressing himself clearly enough; he would not purposely make such a statement criticizing American troops, whether or not he actually felt that way. Politicians, while often not too bright, understand how the game is played.

                            2. The American public (and many Republicans) took advantage of his lack of clarification.

                            3. Kerry did not apologize for misspeaking. If he had apologized, he would not be under so much heat.

                            4. Its less than a week until election day... obviously the Republicans will take advantage of anything that they can.

right now i'm wearing a pair of faded kirra jeans i have had for 3 years (fun fact:i bought them when melufa and I first met - we got bored and went to a mall), with an american eagle belt. my boxers have astro from the jetsons on them. jockey small undershirt, a merona dress shirt, white with button-down collar (unbuttoned though), and a fyasko shirt from the buckle over it. paul yetchko from math 121 describes it as 'indie chic'.

and that's how much i care about kerry's joke. it was funny, he's got balls for saying what most other democrats i know think

Maybe Kerry played the Fear Card, instead.

He wound up getting national media coverage with the message that people should vote to bring control of Congress to the Dems---otherwise we will stay stuck in Iraq, or the next Iraq. Now that people are upset, the Democrat Party gets a chance to distance themselves from the embarrassing stink of Kerry's 2004 loss. And, they have snatched back some well-timed media coverage from the Republicans.

Al Gore played the lighting rod role leading up to the last elections. Maybe the whole thing was done on purpose.
