Mines kind of a mix of all time and current. Theres some bands i like more than some listed but didn't last long enough to really be considered a favorite.

1. Shai Hulud-Very good lyrics and lyrical syle that wasnt around in the hardcore scene when they came around in the 90's and is copied by many nowadays. Just a all around talented band even though they have 1 original member from their 11 year history.
2. Converge-All around, straight up talented band. They have a unique sound and any band that sounds like them is because they copied Converge. You may not like their sound but you still have to respect their talent.
3. Cave in-Another talented band that has a unique sound, just can't get enough of them.
4. Radiohead-I don't think they need an explanation
5. Coldplay-Good band, some may say they're a coldplay rip-off but even if so they're damn good.
6. Sunny Day real estate-Only if the emo bands today were some what like them.....
7. The beatles-Classic
8. Chain of Strength- Classic Hardcore band
9. Botch-One of the better heavy bands, to bad they're not around more but man where they a good live band.
10. Immortal Technique/sole/aesop rock/Cage/sage francis/Aceyalone/Jedi Mind tricks(I like them all equally aswell as others and i just can't pick 1)

i dunno, voth is kinda right. people who listen to shite like nickelback usually need to grow up and get out of the phase wherein they just listen to whatever music is deemed popular by mtv. or they simply lack a musical taste/interest and will listen to whatever is given to them.
anyone else will notice nickelback is a very simple and boring rockband, a rockband that isn't ashamed to record the exact same song twice.
