Who, of those who have written the Bible, have actually been to heaven and back to write about it? Everything the Bible says about heaven is just hearsay.

God> Yeah it's real nice, just trust me.

I'm not saying it's not a nice place but you can't cite the Bible's description as the reason why.

Even though I'm not religious, religious people don't bother me. But what does bother me is when they frequently draw attention to the fact that they're religious, or go too far with it, quoting the bible etc. (Heavensent, Blueblaze)

No, no, no. What would your first thought be if it weren't true? Would it be that "the Christian life is the best life to live" shit? Because it really seems like a whole lot less fun to me, at least objectively. I sort of wish I had a get-out-of-jail-free card for a bad day like "well, God still loves me" but the whole abstinence thing definitely sucks, as well as various other things, not the least of which being apparently having to throw your beliefs in everyone else's face constantly. Don't de-rail my thread with the same crap you post in every other thread. If you don't think it applies to you, don't post in it.

As well, there is no point of Christianity without the afterlife, otherwise your salvation is either in vain or is very weak. You must realize the depths of Christ's love to save us from hell, and you must realize the importance of our being in Heaven as well. Our purpose for life on earth, and life in Heaven is to glorify God, simple as that. I believe in Heaven we won't be playing games, or eating from all you can eat menus, or anything like that, but we will be constantly singing praises to our King.

As to the original point of the thread, Facetious, the point of my being isn't that if things go wrong, I can say, "Well even if this isn't true, the Christian life was a good life to live" the point is IT IS TRUE! Despite your warning, it is impossible! There is no other way but through Jesus Christ. God's Word is infailable, not one error, without lies or misleadings. Period. God's promises never fail, nor does His judgement.
Spend my afterlife singing christian chants?
You totally blew away what was supposted to be heaven.
I pictured clouds made of boobs, beer rain and steaks flying into my mouth.

What's the directions to hell? I'll go there in my own will.

Distort, John went to Heaven, or atleast was revealed Heaven by God, and came back to earth to write about it, hence the book of Revelation. The main book of 'End Times' was written because John was revealed a gimpse of Heaven and the future.

Pummel, for me, its hard not to talk about religion, or quoting Bible verses and the likes. Whenever you become a Christian, its not just some weak change where you "now love Jesus, and everything is cool with Him." Whenever you become saved, you are to turn absolutely around from your past, and become just like Christ was on earth. A Christian is to be the image of Christ to the world, and whenever you really have that salvation experience, God absolutely changes your every motive and every being. You can't ignore that fact if you really have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. The Holy Spirit works on your whole life changing it to be acceptable unto God, whether its your music, friends, lifestyle, etc... everything changes.

Facetious, Well sorry if I derail your thread, but there is no ifs in reality. I don't live in the fantasy, nor should you. Reality is, there is a Heaven and a Hell, and all those who don't make a sincere change to Christ in Salvation will go to Hell.

Noah, if one truly accepts Christ as Savior, then singing praises to God for eternity is a wonderous thing. This is what it is about.
May my ambition be, more love of Christ to thee.

What if frogs could speak our langages and communicate with humans? Sure, the reality IS that they CAN'T, but the question remains, what if they could? If one would reply to this with "I don't live in the fantasy, nor should you. Reality is, there are frogs, and they can not and don't speak any humanoid language", that's pretty useless, and IMO one who did so would appear to be going out of their way to push some kind of agenda without regard for the topic at hand.
