As well, wearing clothes that are immodest, that increases your odds for being a target for rape. Drinking and taking drugs, other things that would be considered ungodly activities, can make you vulnerable for being raped as well. Being out late at night, especially alone, may not be a sin in some circumstances, but it sure is unwise though, will increase your odds for rape as well. Anyway, you get the point. I understand that stuff can happen where even if you do everything right, you can still be a target for rape, but your odds are very very little.
You're right. Women should repress themselves, wear full length dresses (complete with head dress), stay at home, and live a life of modest comfort without any exhiliration.

Heaven forbid we let them out of the kitchen for a while....And make their own decisions *gasp*

edit: And why is taking drugs an ungodly thing? God created them on his natural earth, and you Christians have never had a problem using Earth's resources (see the Vatican which is made up of more Gold and Bronze than is shared by the world per year.), so why are drugs outlawed?

And I've heard that whole don't destroy the temple that is your body, but doing sporting activities ruins your body in ways maybe not seen instantly, but surely seen in later years. In fact, going into the sun and breathing have both been proven to harm our bodies....So should we stop breathing? I don't want to ruin my body (lest God should get his panties in a bunch).

          Morality Prevents Rape

NOTE: NONE OF THESE CAME FROM A "CHRISTIAN" SOURCE, ALL WERE GOVERNMENT OR WELL RESPECTED STUDIES IN RAPE AND ITS STATISTICS

I find it great how everyone grossly takes everything I say out of context.

For starters Kolar, I am referring to rape in first world countries since almost everyone here is considered living in one.

Liquid Blue, it is obvious that you don't know your statistics if you claim only 1% to that and I never claimed that every case of rape was part of the woman's fault, but the odds of getting raped were severally increased by an immoral lifestyle.

          1) Dress modestly, that doesn't mean your wearing a full length dress with a vail. Cover up from the knees to the shoulders is what I would consider modest. It would be difficult to find a statistical search on this because obviously my definition of modesty isn't the same as many people, but if you dress modestly, then it will help lower your risks of getting in relationships with absolute pornographic people burned in their lust, people who desire sex before marriage, friends who think with their lusts then mind, etc... While I don't have statistics for this specific point, this obviously effects who you hang around with, and who you hang around with is severally important concerning rape, do some research and look at these statistics.

          2) Make friendship with evidencing Christians who seek sex after marriage. If you hang around ungodly sinful people, you raise your risk.

90% of women who were raped, atleast in college, knew their victim. If you hang around people who evidence themselves as Christians and seek sex after marriage, then that gets rid of probably 89.9% of rape at college in the cases mentioned. As well, if you end up going to a Christian university, that will even more so lower your odds for rape.

If your sexually active with someone, they are more likely prone to rape, then someone who you are not sexually active with. If you have sex with 50 guys before marriage, and then marry 1 of them, you are a higher risk candidate for rape then someone who has sex with 0 guys before marriage, and then marry 1 of them.

Some researchers believe that engaging in high-risk sexual behavior is both a vulnerability factor and a consequence of childhood sexual abuse. Youth with many sexual partners are at increased risk of experiencing sexual abuse (Howard and Wang 2003; Valois et al. 1999).
Having multiple sex partners increases your risk for sexual abuse, and increases your child's risk as well.

          5) How you live your life increases your odds

It may also make them more dependent on men for survival and therefore less able to control their own sexuality, consent to sex, recognize their own victimization or to seek help when victimized. These issues increase their vulnerability to sexual victimization (Jewkes, Sen, and Garcia-Moreno 2002). In addition, poor women may be at risk for sexual violence because their economic (and, often, educational) status necessitates that they engage in high-risk survival activities, for example trading sex for food, money, or other items (Wenzel et al. 2004). Poverty also puts women at increased risk of intimate partner violence, of which sexual violence is often one aspect.
          A. Poverty may make the daily lives of women and children more dangerous, walking alone at night (why should you walk alone at night? not necessarily sinful always, but not very wise)

          B. Less parental supervision (Why arn't parents taking care of their kids, poverty reason, because there is probably a single mom taking care of the child. Most likely there was pre-martial sex which caused the child or divorce (which is not Biblical for Christians to partake). If both parents are present and still in the poverty situation, why are they having children they cannot adequetly provide for, both economically and emotionally? Either a sinful relationship occured, or the parents were having children when they couldn't provide for.

C."It may also make them more dependent on men for survival and therefore less able to control their own sexuality, consent to sex, recognize their own victimization or to seek help when victimized. These issues increase their vulnerability to sexual victimization" If this is the case, then the problem here is that the women cannot control their sexual desires, and how sinful sex outside of marriage is.

D."Poor women may be at risk for sexual violence because their economic (and, often, educational) status necessitates that they engage in high-risk survival activities, for example trading sex for food, money, or other items"
If you prostitute your body, you raise your odds for rape.

E."Poverty also puts women at increased risk of intimate partner violence, of which sexual violence is often one aspect. " The women are already having sex outside of marriage, thus raising their odds for getting raped as well.

Conclusion: If you are living a morally upright godly Christian life which abstains from pre-martial sex, seeking a partner who also shares those beliefs, and taking friendship with people who share those beliefs as well, you will dramatically reduce your risk for rape. If you still deny this, then obviously you have no intelligence and cannot read or comprehend statistics.
May my ambition be, more love of Christ to thee.

Stop trying to preach to everyone about how to be a good christian. We get it. You think you have a better set of morals than other people. I would like to give you some news: Many people don't give a shit about christianity or trying to live up to your fucking standards. "Live a more christian life" is not in any way a solution for rape. Try reading some of LBs post. Women are raped by people of all professions and level of acquantaince. You CANNOT control that other people decide to commit these acts against others. It's really funny how you think being in a setting with religious people makes you less likely to be raped. Guess what? Chrisitians have raped people too. Get off your high horse and consider that people who are religious aren't to be considered any less likely to commit crimes.

                Blueblaze has a point:

                1) A good christian lifestyle includes no alcohol. I mean Jesus clearly turned wine back into wat... oh wait.

                2) See if you're 5 and your deadbeat dad rapes you... it's your fault.

                3) Hang around Christians because we know that priests never rape anyone.

                4) It's NEVER the man's fault, obviously the women's fault for getting raped... yeah... uh.

                5) I bet Blueblaze is overcompensating. Either he/she's a rapist or has been raped in the past. You know sort of like those preachers that preach against homosexuality who are in fact closet homosexuals themselves.

Of course people at all levels can get raped, but certain things increase the percentage of rape. Don't exclude rape to only women as 20-30% of all rape cases are against men as well.
If you live a life the way God intended life to be lived, chances are you'll have less diseases, be less prone to crimes, specially such as rape, have a heathier and longer life, etc. This is just one of many proofs for the Bible's divine inspiration, and not just a book written by dead people. How can a book written 1900-5000 (pending on the book) years ago before any medicine, science, and knowledge of the human body have significant progress, yet be absolutely accurate about how to live a heathy long life. This Bible might have a deeper value then just men writing a long time ago, maybe it was inspired by something, or Someone who knows all things, especially about us. Just one of many proofs for the Bible's inspiration and divinity.

Whether or not you believe in the Bible, the statistics still claim proof for themselves. The majority of people who were raped, or targetted for rape, did something mentioned above to increase their odds for being a target, which could have been prevented, more specifically prevented by living a godly lifestyle. Of course its always the perpetrator's fault, but you can do things to almost completely reduce your risk of rape.

The information you quoted is nothing profound. It's like saying AIDs can be prevented by wearing a condom. That's basic knowledge of the risks of sex. Please find something a little more suited to your argument.

Yet again, you take my posts absurdly out of context.

                            1) Grapejuice, I'd rather not get into all the fundamentals of this as it is a completely different topic (even though rape is too, but that is a serious topic which needs to be addressed, since the majority of people don't understand rape correctly, thus increasing odds of rape for both men and women because of their ignorance)

                            2) I never said that, and only a low percentage of rape (when compared to the rest of it) occurs under 6 or so years old, less than 15-20%.

                            3) For the 100th time, I am absolutely against the Catholic church, and I say this as reverantly as I can, but I do not believe there are many saved within the Catholic church. I don't believe in completely abstaining from sex, as you create problems like the preist, but I believe in abstaining until marriage.

                            4) First off, be less sexist when saying women are the only ones who get raped. About 1/3 of men get raped as well. Second off, its pretty obvious that the offender is to be blaimed, but the point I'm trying to make is that when you do certain things and live a certain lifestyle, you increase your odds of getting raped. You can prevent rape, if you know what lifestyle causes rape, which is an ungodly lifestyle.

                            5) Never was. Am not. Never will. As well, excuse me for preaching against rape. Sounds almost like you support rape from that post. What I've done is listed honest ways to prevent and protect yourself from getting raped, what you've done is basically said its stupid, don't listen to him. This is why even though we keep increasing in technology, we're turning into socially STUPID people. In essence, I'm trying to show the people that, if you play with the fire of sexual immorality, then don't get into a fit when you get burned by rape. (I know that doesn't apply with everyone, but as you can see clearly by the stats, you can do a lot to help reduce your risk for rape.
