I was pushing limits before to see how you would react but do you simply draw no lines at all in regards to being family-friendly? As mods, obviously we need to be more consistent with our judgment, it was a problem before, and adding more people certainly wasn't going to help the problem overnight. The rules are purposefully vague for a reason, of course. If the rules were explicit, people would have a grand old time treading that line and bitching when they felt like they were within the rules but got warned or banned anyway. Still, obviously some consistency would really help, and I am going to do what I can so that all the mods are pretty much on the same page with the types of things that get you warned or banned. It's not an easy thing to figure out though.

Generally though, the rules that are applicable to your situation that I think people should follow are the following:
1) Don't be an idiot - Making your signature a ridiculous hardcore porn sentence just to see what the mods will do is being pretty retarded. You knew it was going to be changed, and I doubt you would have been too surprised if you received a warning.
2) Don't be an moron - When a mod doesn't warn or ban you for doing that, and just changes your signature, don't try to push the envelope by writing a different, less vulgar porn sentence just to see what happens, either.
3) Don't be a jackass - When you do something that warrants a warning (it's a fucking warning, by the way, not a ban, it doesn't affect your ability to do anything except break the rules), don't receive a warning, and then follow that up by basically asking for a warning, don't complain when you eventually get a warning.

It would be super badass if I could just ignore the rules I don't like (I personally could give two shits if you talk about sex on here, but the people that pay for the game and forum don't like it), and only ban and warn people I dislike. You'd never get warned or banned (by me) for anything! Awesome! (not really because the other people would still warn you) However, I don't think I would last very long as a moderator if that's how I act. Nor should I, as I don't think anyone wants mods that ignore half the rules, play favorites, and hold grudges. I made no secret before I was made a mod that I wasn't happy with the way forum staff was communicating with the community. I was made forum staff and now I'm going to see what I can do to fix that problem. However, I can't stay forum staff if I just dick around and don't help my fellow staffers do their jobs.

I don't get off on having internet power. Warning and banning people doesn't make me feel special or happy. However, if I'm going to be forum staff, I'm going to be forum staff, and I don't really see why I should apologize for that.

I wholeheartedly agree. My main qualm was with the selective enforcement. I try not to be a dick just for the sake of being a dick except to people like Izor.

I know you don't and after this post I suppose the disagreement is not with you but with DangerGirl or whoever decides what is family-friendly. It just feels as though certain rules are enforced when convenient or just for the sake of enforcing something.

I made a mistake in CLOSING the thread that LB posted, I should have left it open to allow people to discuss with me why I deleted the story. Also, I didn't have to delete the WHOLE story, maybe I should have just edited out the gross part and said "...the chick ends up being a dude - Facetious" but I didn't really think the story would have had any value at that point, so I just deleted the whole thing, and maybe I shouldn't have. For those things, I apologize. If you want to discuss things like that, I'm all ears. Still, this just is not the place to repost sex stories of random strangers.

The first signature definitely fell into the porn/disgusting shit category. The warning was really more for the first one than the second one. It just doesn't slide to have a mod tell you to take the sex talk out of your signature, and then replace it with more sex talk. To me, that was like e-spitting in my face. It makes me look bad if I cut you some slack by not warning you for the first sig, and you make it obvious that you don't really give a shit about anything but making your point. If you want to start a thread about what you think should be allowed to be discussed on the forums, by all means, go ahead, but your method of getting your point across is hardly going to work even for me, and definitely isn't going to work for most other people. It weakens your point, because it makes it look like you want to allow the sex talk not because you find it entertaining and enjoyable, but you want to see what kind of bullying you can accomplish on the forums.
