First, until recently the Democratic party was usually considered the 'war' party. Many people seem to only want to remember the last 10 years.
Second, Edwards? Living in NC, we got to see Edwards campaign ads of him standing in front of a shack and telling us that it was his old homestead and how he related to the common man. He just sold his Georgetown house for close to 5 million. He is a lawyer.
I see no person who has announced they are running for President as a 'leader'. Look at them all waffling around on issues, trying to find the most ‘middle-of-the-road’ position they can find. That isn’t leadership. Leadership is the ability to take a non-popular but correct position, sell it to both House and Senate, AND sell it to the public. Obama, Hilary, Edwards, and Mccain show none of this ability. These people are politicians, very wealthy people. Do not fall for their ‘I am here to help you’ lines. Do not fall for their ‘chicken in every pot’. Do not fall for their ‘we will fix health care’. Demand to know how they are going to pay for it. Understand that your grandparents/parents paid very little into Medicare/Social Security yet have already received hundreds of times more money back out of it. There will be nothing there for you when you get old.
Do not fall for ‘caps’ in Iraq. This is no plan. The plan should be about how we get out AND not leave an abortion behind. We made a commitment. We knew planting a seed would not bare fruit in a year or two, that this would be a long, ugly transition for any country to make. A new leader should have a plan that gets us eventually out AND makes the deaths of those who gave their lives count for something.

And you've failed. American foreign policy has failed to achieve anything but put the West in the middle east for the next 20 years. The idea that through military force we could change regions of the world within an acceptable time frame with minimal human, economic and political commitments and losses is idiotic at best. Meanwhile real and more threatening enemies to democracy, freedom and all the good stuff, can go unchallenged, pushing their extreme left and right agendas forward. We now face a coming war with Iran, Syria and their Arab allies because one stupid mother fucker, while being told to play nice by Congress and bipartisan reports/councils still wants to be confrontational.
