  • Europe dealing with Hurricane strength winds

What's up with the weather hitting Eurpope? Was watching the news and video feed on the 80MPH hurricane-force winds in London, the entire German national railway system was shut down.

Seems odd to hear and see of such conditions hitting Europe. It's a common or should I say seasonal condition in many parts of North America.

Anyone effected by this? 1st Tornado's hit London and now Hurricane Winds ravage Europe...f'n weird weather.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

My fucking fence is all over the show.

Parts of my town have been cordoned off by police after trees falling, roofs being ripped off buildings and lorries being tipped over.

Had to be evacuated from uni yesterday after tiles were falling off the main building roof and hitting people. Thank god I got my assignment in before the place was evacuated. Travelling back was a bitch, due to country roads being closed, it took over an hour and a half when it should have been a 15 minute drive.

Its a bastard that I live on the North-West coast right by the Irish sea, we get incredibly strong winds here.

Yesterday was awesome, part of a main highway was flooded, no trains where going in the whole country. Roads were closed due to things falling, trucks getting tipped over. I just drove home though from the uni.. a part from the occasional jerk on the steer not a problem. It's not like I had to hang on to the steer to keep the car in the road.

Granted, I live further inland so I had less problems then at the coast, but still the chaos is awesome.

The winds here in Nottinghamshire (Middle England) hit 92mph yesterday.
A large area of Nottingham town was even closed due to scaffolding being blown over and killing someone.

It all makes sense, Europe is experiencing the pre-cursor of the arrival of TelCat.

I have never been to London, so I need some information before I go there. I know it's a bit late, since it is only a day before my departure. But anything is better than nothing.

Here are some info: I will be staying in SE1 8YW, most likely I will be working in EC2A 2DA. Those mean nothing to me at the moment.

I am just wondering what should I do about the public transport, what is the weather like at the moment. Does it rain a lot?

              Appreciate your assistance.

We're subject to 50-60mph winds out here fairly frequently, but 80 is just insane :O

10 people died from the winds yesterday, 2 of which wern't far from me.
Also, the uni buildings were closed down.

I never went out in it though, would have been a nice experience :P

It was pretty exhilarating. I went for a walk to the lake and over the hills near my house and it was amazing how powerful it was.

Scotland got all the shitty weather last week. Bridges and roads closed, land slides fucking up trains and winds nearly sending me into another car.

Other than a little bit of snow yesterday there was nothing out of the ordinary.

for a day last week stopped the plane that carries the mail from London to belfast for my work so i couldn't do anything, which was nice. But of course then 2x as much comes in the next day, which isn't so nice.

On the flip side of this wacky weather, Malibu Beach, California gets snow! Very odd for this area just North of Los Angeles.
