compared to last year, this halftime show was sweet

once he started purple rain, i was like "crap, they wont be able to do a sweet silhouette thing" boy was i wrong. i was pumped after that

and there were a few pretty good commercials i thought

the bud ones were sweet... i laughed the most at the rock/paper one... "low five" hah

i enjoyed coke's grand theft auto one actually, thought it was kinda nifty

one of the career builder ones was good, the one where they were wearing like busted copiers as armor and stuff i thought was funny

Consider yourselves lucky they didn't have the assholes from American Idol up there---Janet Jackson or The 70-Year Old, Wrinkly Rolling Stones, anyone?

Let's face it, the Superbowl has become a worldwide marketing juggernaut---almost on par with Christmas. Of course they're not going to have Sufjan Stevens do the halftime performance. So considering the sponsors are trying to retain as many viewers in front of the TV as possible, I feel like I dodged a bullet.

Prince is a R&B legend, and many people, including myself, consider him to be one of the very few people who fall into that category of Musical Genius. Ok, to be honest---I actually thought it was a pretty cool show. But the fact that I was born in the 70's probably has a lot do do with that. But again, I just consider myself lucky they didn't have the usual "safe", unwatchable, MTV bullshit they usually have.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that The Stones made awesome music.

But I am just not entertained by 70 yr olds making believe they're 20. If it had been Prince at 70 yrs old...a shell of his younger self, looking like wrinkled pruny shit, I would have been annoyed by that also.

this is the only half time show i've watched.
i watched it cause i was curious.

I was disappointed, i didn't think it was very good, not saying that it was a disaster it lay somewhere in the mediocre realm of crapness. I expected more off prince despite the rain that would have an effect it was the format was the main thing that annoyed me, way to many songs jammed in. pointless.

Worse of all was the second rate commentators that were covering it on the UK channel i was watching ... and they kept on harping on about the irony off purple rain cuase it was raining ...... no its his most famous song and the rain wasn't purple, just normal rain ffs if some how some weird chemical fire or something had turned the rain purple then yes that would been something to talk about as much as they did ... this was nothing compared to their in game commentary which was so bad i just turned it off in the second half to a different channel.

Prince didn't dance or move a lot because he's in need of hip replacement surgery. His hips have gotten fucked up over the years from dancing with heels. The word also is that he probably won't get the surgery because it goes against his faith as a Jehovah Witness. :fear:
