I found it awesome. They used a technique in which they can get 3 different views with only one shot. That alone made the movie such a sweet piece of work. The fighting scenes are top notch. Very gory and sexual. Snyder did Frank Miller some justice with this. It gets to the point and that's what I like in a movie.

I went with a group of like 10 other dudes, all of us blazed as shit, and when the King said the "This is Sparta!" line, us and like every other guy our age in the theatre screamed the line as loud as we could. It was fucking awesome.

Why wasn't 300 nominated for the Oscars? It had to be out before the oscars? Or that whole political oscar stuff? I mean I hear a lot that the cinematography is really awesome and they have an Oscar for that 2 right?

It opens today. Even if it had opened before the Oscars, nominees for Academy Awards have to open during the preceding calendar year. 300 will be eligible for next year's awards.

I also just caught the midnight show..the plot was good (Well, when you have the 300 vs all complex, the plot can't be bad) but the way they presented it seemed to be just horrible..it just didn't seem to flow well (well, at least the first 20 minutes, until the movie gets consumed with the battle). However, the action scenes and the acting was really well done. The fighting scenes were just so beautifully done (the scene with the two spartans tearing shit up..just great cinematography) and there are many parts where you can just feel the emotion..it was awesome
