I'd like to see a client be able to connect to the existing Subspace servers but present the game in "3D". Granted it would have to be limited to a single plane (as there is no z-axis in the game), and you wouldn't be able to see around walls or behind you, but it would be fun.

there was a zone somewhere with that. u can also d/l the files for it from some place.

ive known about this for 5 years.. its a lot like diaspora, not subspace. u dont reaally dog fight. its more about surviving than killing. u try to make money, get a good ship, and join a steadt clan. its more highly social than ss. you rely more on communication and having enemies actually means something more than being annoyingly called a newb once in a while.
