We can't go inside others and feel their pain, and then judge which one has it worst. We all deal with out own pains, and it's the only measurement of pain and misery we have.
And, even if the kid has it worse, then our problems will always seem bigger to ourselves because our problems is with us always, but the kid on the news goes away when you go do something else.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

There is something extremely frustrating about people who whine and complain all the time. I really struggle with school, and I'm only halfway through undergrad right now. I have a friend with a double major from a great school who has spent about three months bitching and whining that she hasn't gotten into grad school. She only applied to the top top top tier schools (not a single backup), did her applications the day before they were due, and doesn't even apply herself in the field she's trying to enter (creative writing, but she hasn't written anything in months). It is really goddamn hard to listen to her complain about that, given that I won't be done with undergrad for two years and when I do, I won't be able to get into any of those grad schools either. Is it completely uncalled for for her to complain about that? Well, no. That, in and of itself doesn't make her a bad person. Would she be a better person if she could put her life in perspective? Absolutely.
With my situation, I'm living at home, and having a hard time with school. I could either look around and see all the people who have parents that paid for really nice apartments, donated to the school their kids went to and badgered administrators to keep their kids passing, and be embittered and pissed that I didn't get that treatment. Or, I could look at people who hate school just as much as I do, but have to struggle through it with full time jobs, kids, etc, and feel like my life is actually pretty good. I feel like it's a much better idea to try to feel like your life is okay than look for people to be jealous of.5:gen> man

True face, but if that was a response to me and The Hawks discussion, then I don't think it fits in that well.
If you're 100% responsible for the mess you're in, or just jealous on someone getting something before and/or easier than you, then you need perspective.
If it's something shit that has happened to you, or a mental problem that some of us evolve around themselves, then in their worlds, they will have serious issues.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

The only time I brought home an F, I got my ass beat. On top of that, the only reason I'm in school is because of scholarships and financial aid, so I have to work hard every day to make sure those are still around for me. It's just really frustrating knowing that if I mess a quarter up, then I'm going to have to beg my dad to pay for my college, and ask my mother to work harder than she already does, while these kids practically piss money and waste their time.Originally posted by ToneWomen who smoke cigarettes are sexy, not repulsive. Thats some demanding shit! If you work like 30 hours a week on top of school maybe ill feel bad for you some but jesus christ..doesnt get any easier than being a full time student.Last edited by Izor; 04-26-2007, 07:46 PM.I'm just a middle-aged, middle-eastern camel herdin' man

If you study Donald Duck at the thumb-ass institute then you can run around smoking pot.
Go med school, law school with an ambition to pass with a good margin then have fun spending your vacations catching up on homework.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

OH SHI-
It's pretty easy to see how a monopoly works. Just look at long-distance rates. Notice how fast they dropped after they deregulated the market? Then again maybe you're too young for that. You can just try and go to a small town and see how everything mass produced costs more, cause there's only one store for most things and they can charge whatever they want. Like a TV will cost a lot more than getting it at bestbuy because well.. there aren't any best buys in the town.Epinephrine's History of Trench Wars:

lol is everyone here in med school or something? after having talked to doctors and noting to myself how much they know i understand they have learned a lot over their school but thats not an average job to be a doctor. 36 hour shifts or whatever with constant stress..law is probably somewhat the same but not as bad because you dont have the stress of saving lives, yet a lot of bullshit to remember.
I'm just assuming that everyone here is in a regular ass college and not trying to save the world. Judging by how much you go out and party and the countless stories I read up on here that I really dont want to see, I'd say that you have more than enough free time that can be spent on other, more productive things. Of course, I'm not telling you to give up on going out with people but with a little time management its easy to have a job, college, and life.
As for the 'physical demands' of studying..get over it. You're reading a book. It simply doesnt get any easier than that.I'm just a middle-aged, middle-eastern camel herdin' man
