Try getting a nice bottle of wine in a restaurant, which you can find 1/4th price at the alco-store :crying: Then drink gin-t's and/or whiskeys at the bar after.

Especially with the introduction of the euro. (exchange rate was 2.2). A beer was 2.5 guilders, now i can easely find them in the city for 2.5 euros. But the salary didn't go up by 2.2. I always enjoy my hangovers, because it costs a fortune! Value for money.

the best part of a night out is usually the kebabstore around 4/5 am!

here beer is between 1.8-2 euros in most 'clubs' i go, but i never go to the real clubs, but just those who are kinda small and a mix between a bar and a club, so you're not forced to dance or sit-and-talk all the time.. in some bars between 12-1 beer is 1 euro, and on thursday some places have studentnights, and beer is 1 euro (while other drinks like sodas are the regular price, hehe).
but yeah i live in a relative small (student)city, so nothing is too big and far away like in a big city, which i kinda like.. takes about 10 minutes to get into town and to most places with my bicycle.
only thing strange is that people seem to go out later and later here, around 12 most places are still dead, only between 1-2 places suddenly get packed, which means you usually don't get home before 4-5..
but yeah i agree with seal, the worst thing about the euro is that prices pretty much doubled for all drinks. :/

$10 for 40oz works out at $5 = £2.50 for a (uk) pint... if that's expensive for you, then you must have really cheap drinks.

            In a normal pub, you'd expect to pay £2 - £2.50 for a pint of lager, in a club you'd pay £3 ($6) for a 33cl (11oz) BOTTLE of lager.

            It regularly costs me £30 - £40 ($60 - $80) for a drunk night out.

I did manage to have an awesome night last night on about $20, wasn't particularly drunk, but didn't need to be cause the music was great.

yea this really pisses me off this stuff and yet my friends love these nightclub places.

Its got to the point where a £5 note won't even buy you 2 pints of normal larger !!! (thats 568ml servings for over bout €7.5 & $10) THAT IS IN A NORMAL BAR!! then they go to these piss nightclubs where the music has no words - i can't tell when one 'song' ends and another begins. They are too trendy to sell pints and only sell 330ml bottles for even more expensive ????? ANd they charge like £10 just to get in??

the music is so loud ppl scream in your ear and i still can't make out what there saying and wake up the next morning and my ears still ringing

              i prefer a normal bar

                Beer 3,50-4€ usually 0,5l

                drinks 5-7€

Yeah, I dont understand what was so expensive in it.

Oh, and special shots/drinks can be more expensive of course.

And that, ladies & gentlemen, proves why a beer or twelve in a park is much better. Not to mention cheaper...

A night out these days involves minimal change from £50, which means a night in

Da1 stop looking at this thread at the same time as me, asshole.

Oh, and I've spent 175$ on drinking related things this weekend.
Ozzy tickets cost about 100$, and the rest is just insane Norwegian prices, i haven't been drinking that much either.
