I played halo 1 and halo 2 as well but I agree, it's too early to compare with those. My only disappointment so far has been that occasionally It has taken 60 -90 seconds too long to get a game in match making-- and that might actually be because of my NAT settings.

I never played 1 or 2 either, but decided to start straight away on Legendary. Was doing fine for the first couple of battles. Take down a couple of brutes, no big deal. Then there's a section where there are 4 long range snipers, along with an assortment of small creatures.

At this point the game was pissing all over Half Life 2 on the hardest setting :P Tried it a few times and got murdered on every single attempt. Will recoup my thoughts and launch another attempt tomorrow

In my opinion Single player Gears > Halo 3. Simply because Halo 3 remains Halo. A console game trying too hard to be a PC game. Gears of War is an absolutely fantastic console game in every single respect (well, except the driving sequence). Halo 3 has 4 player co-op, and the sheer depth of multiplayer over Gears. If you're a casual player who rarely goes online then it's Gears every time.

Edit: Oh, and Google Video is for watching the perfect Dead Rising ending. Not Halo 3

The best ending involves killing all the psychos, saving all the survivors .. I'll save what the actual ending entails but it has to rank as one of the most anti-climatic endings of all time considering the effort required

Oh fuck that ending took me forever.

And was totally not worth the 50+ hours I put into it.

What is this after credits ending about? After we beat it, all that happened was a message box popped up and said thanks for playing and that we kicked ass for buying Halo.

After that message, credits roll and you have to wait for them. It's a bit of a wait, but it's somewhat worth it.

Anyhow, when do you guys wanna schedule this mayhem that will be the TW Halo3 Extravaganza? Sundays always work well with gaming.

I've been playing at my buddies' house recently, finally an environment where I can enjoy playing... Back in the day when Halo 1 and 2 were out, I only played with people that were super-competitive about winning and only played online so every time I played we lost and everyone bitched about it, so I just didn't bother playing since it wasn't enjoyable. The people I play with now don't give a shit about winning so I've been able to improve a fair amount. I still suck, but not nearly as badly. Playing 4-player on a big HDTV actually works pretty well, instead of putting you at a tremendous handicap for having a bunch of people on one TV. Sundays are for football though.
