The Yea’s have it on the vote. It should be interesting to see how this develops.

Seems like the only Democratic presidential candidate that has followed his words with actions is Rep Dennis J. Kucinich, for bringing this vote to the House.

Mr. Kucinich I applaud you for listening to the majority of the American peoples and bringing this House Resolution Vote to the floor for the vote!

The republicans have soundly defeated them once again. Not only did the resolution fail, the republicans came out on top by calling the dem's bluff with a 'bring it on' response (notice that the repubs switched their votes at the end to AGAINST tabling). Now the democrats look (even more) incompetent, and they look (even more) like pussies, too. One thing is for sure - the democrats are politically retarded.

As I watched this yesterday on C-Span 1, When Kucinich brought H.R. 333 to the floor, it seemed like the republicans, as a joke, all voted in favor of impeachment with the Dem.'s mostly opposed, yet with enough votes to uphold the Yea on impeachment. They then took a second vote electronically and the majority of Republicans seeing that the joke was backfiring, mostly voted Nay the 2nd round. I guess the result of the 1st vote spurred on the Dems for the second vote to go all out and vote for impeachment, as it passed on two separate votes.

Now this goes to the House Judiciary Committee of which is not in Cheney's best interest considering the way Cheney has stonewalled them on so many issues of this administration when seeking answers. John Conyers the Committee Chairman can't let it sit and has to put it back out for a Vote again to proceed with Impeachment. I can only hope!

I agree 100%. The differences are the charges though. Clinton was just an idiot that lied about a blowjob & Cheney is up against impeachment charges based upon stating that Vice President Cheney: (1) has purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, and about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, to justify the use of the U.S. Armed Forces against Iraq in a manner damaging to U.S. national security interests; and (2) has openly threatened aggression against Iran absent any real threat to the United States, and has done so with the U.S. proven capability to carry out such threats, thus undermining U.S. national security.

If it happens and comes down to criminal charges against Cheney is anyones guess. The reasons for impeachment between Clinton and Cheney based upon the subject matter of why, is a bit different...especially if the nail Cheney on this. All Clinton had to do is what Bush and his administration have done all term. Don't give any answers and only talk behind closed doors, not under oathe and not on the record! Why Clinton didn't think of that is amazing....he could have said that for national security he would not answer the accusations against him. Hindsite huh?

You know I agree with ya Eph, and I also agree that the constitution placed the option of Impeachment as a means to stop the the corruption/criminal aspects that could ruin our government and laws. Is it too late to do such a thing, as well as a waste of money? Possibly....yet we have wasted how much money and lives upon a war that should never have happened. It can be looked at in two way, as a waste and justice, depending on variables. Yet, I would love to see Cheney up on War Crimes!
