this man is just like every other politician. power hungry and money thirsting. you guys just don't see it because you have the veil over your eyessss.
<_<
You're just talking out of your ass with nothing to back it up.
"He continues to advocate a dramatic reduction in the size of the federal government and a return to constitutional principles."
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
These two are not working for him. Without regulation right now the Telecos are working together on price fixing, DPI technologies to block content and insert advertisement into web content all in violation of the principles that made the Internet what it is today. Anyone who knows anything about technology and isn't a sell out will tell you the same.
Here we have two choices for boardband, Rogers Cable -the worst ISP for violating network neutrality and treating their customers like 4 year old idiots and Bell which is going down the same path as Rogers. Both are now allowed to set their own prices in most places if a competitor owns 25% of the market thanks to the free market bullshit the Conservatives are running with instead of ensuring there is real competition, if it even is good for the market or maybe if deregulating companies who make it big on such anti-consumer practices should be given special treatment like this.
He wants to repeal Roe v. Wade (THE Land mark case on women's rights and the right to privacy)
He supports a private educational system and removing the Department of Education (no school accreditation, no standards what so ever in terms of education just because it would require some form of bureaucracy)
The gay issue: changing the definition of marriage to allow "same-sex marriage" is "an act of social engineering profoundly hostile to liberty." But of course it's the state's decision.
Right to privacy: "Ridiculous as sodomy laws may be, there clearly is no right to privacy nor sodomy found anywhere in the Constitution. There are, however, states’ rights – rights plainly af..."
Environment: He doesn't believe in Federal subsidies being given to either renewable technologies or traditional energy companies because the free market solves all ills. But of course the oil companies can get by keeping clean and cheaper energy a taboo subject without Washington's or Ronald Paul's help.
Do I really have to go on? He's a right wing ideologue. Nothing more, this cult of personality is fucking annoying.

No. It's not like your Canadian opinion holds any weight with many Americans anyway. Socialism & Socialist rhetoric to most Americans is fucking annoying.

I am not a socialist, I believe capitalism to be the best economic system for both our countries and in general. I also know that for Democracy to survive special interest, corruption and corporate interest all have to be kept in check. It won't survive if we have idiots promoting ideas like removing such Governmental agencies to do just that.
Heavensent that's an Izor reply, get something original.

I'm not Izor. I said what I believe. I don't believe that government has to have bureaucracies of national education, medicine & homeland security to function. I don't believe the government needs to play the nanny in all aspects of society. As Ron Paul says, (paraphrased: ) where-ever the government butts in, the quality goes down and the price goes up. We can do without that BS.
Hey, Heavensent, what about responding to the points that he made. Because they are kinda similar to what I asked earlier in this thread.
I already did... You're just talking out of your ass without a clue. Get a clue and i might take the time to get into it with you. <_<
Edit:> Did you see the site of the interview that was never aired? Hmm I wonder why it wasn't allowed on the air. Could it be that it threatens organizations like the CFR? I think so.

I didn't dodge anything. I stand by all of Ron Paul's proposed ideals & policies. He's saying everything I would say if I were in his position.
No but you're acting like Izor. You ignored my statements, you didn't address anything and choose to insult me based on my nationality. I have little tolerance for that kind of shit on this forum so know now you're on thin ice.
Explain to me how a person who believes in such things as personal liberty and privacy believe that gay marriage should be illegal, how privacy isn't enshrined into the Constitution? He campaigns on one thing yet believes and professes another, doesn't this seem odd to you?
I would agree with that statement, Government is too firmly entrenched in the lives of us all. I would argue regardless of that fact that it is our responsibility as citizens to make the right choice for our selves and our community, based on a cold review of the facts. (As an example I believe universal health care best provides for the people, not because I believe in socialism but because studies have shown it is on par with a private system in terms of service, it costs less and provides for more people then in a private system.)
I don't believe Ron Paul or his supporters care for that, they see a Government bloated and corrupt, so with limited knowledge or political experience the simplistic and probably the most devastating reaction would be to pop the balloon, do away with everything and anything it does, it doesn't matter if it works or is operating efficiently, cost effectively, it shouldn't in their mind therefore it will not.

He's not against gay marriage. Obviously you didn't see the interview. It's a local matter... None of the government's business.... as the case is with most of the questions about the 'issues'. People are just too used to having the government make the decisions for them.

"[allowing] same-sex marriage [is] an act of social engineering profoundly hostile to liberty." -Ron Paul
You misspoke, he is against same sex marriage and he is a hard line conservative. I would propose he only hides behind this state right's crap because it's an easy way to sound progressive and open while producing the results he wants, a more right of center leadership (given the rift between left and right politics in the US). His objections to the electoral college being dissolved would also suggest he favors Western and Southern (Conservative) leadership over that of a more moderate (Liberal) leadership likely to come from the East or West coasts. Not really a democratic position, again ideological in nature.
The last part I thought of going over some of the more finer details of a Democratic Government styled in either a Republic or Parliamentary-Constitutional monarchy (whichever took the least writing) but I'm sure none of it would sink in. Please for the love of god start reading some books or even wikipedia.

I'm really getting tired of Canadians being pegged as socialists, knock it the fuck off.
Just for the record, Kolar opposes most social programs except Universal Healthcare, that is the only thing he approves of paying taxes for. Me and Kolar don't agree on tons of things but we do strongly believe in health care, this doesn't make us socialists. He comes home with his checks and sees a shit load of cash go into welfare, government housing that takes dollars out of his pocket and makes him one step closer to having to use these programs. Welfare and government housing are the two most abused programs in Canada, it's fucking ridiculous how my family shares a 2 bedroom house with 4 people yet people living across the street in government housing have Acura's, Mercedes and flash around their exspensive clothing. I hate mothers who pop out kids left and right and we the people keep paying for them, it's fucking ridiculous.
We live in a signle parent hosuehold yet the govenrment still plans on fucking us over, more importnatly our mother. It's not bad enough we all have a job and go to school or that my mom has a full time job and a part time job, it almost seems like it'd be easier for us to just claim these programs and not get raped by taxes. If you think were a bunch of socialists that think everything should have everything paid for them like a bunch of communist douches then you don't even know me or my brother, my anger sifts as I think about how our system is abused and used to force people onto programs that just screw us all over.
If you even want to know where my brother stands he's socially liberal, and moderate on his economic views. I'm socialy liberal, and economically a fiscal conservative. I do believe in some basic things that must be provided for the people but 90% of what is provided for us in Canada needs to fucking go and people need to stand on their own two fucking feet.
