personally, I would have looked at a few other schools that are not in bad areas as well as have a diverse racial curriculum.

    Princeton
    Drexel University
    University of Delaware
    Maryland
    UMass
    Villanova
    George Washington
    American Univ.
    UConn
    Syracuse Univ.
    Northwestern
    Case Western Reserve University
    Colgate
    University of Vermont

Tons of schools to pic from Gal...depends on the affiliation your school may have with U.S. schools as well as courses of study/major.

Knowing that the schools in Europe are probably much more difficult study and content wise, go for Brown University, U of P, Yale, Columbia Univ., Harvard, Lehigh University.

BTW...how did you come up with the list of schools you noted?

On the East Coast of the U.S., I personally avoid anything below the Mason-Dixon line, unless in the D.C. area. Jails in VA suck!
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

I got to Purdue... Ball state is kinda the school everyone goes to if they can't get into Purdue/IU. I think its good for a few departments but for the most part not as good educationally. The parties and all are the same as everywhere else.

If you go there hit me up, I'll come down from Purdue to visit.

Check this line people, I am going through ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) and they have 100 Universities in America open for me to apply to. The program works as a closed exchange program, so I can only be placed at a University (from that list) if someone from that University goes to Europe. So that's why I have to pick 10 Universities in order where I want to go too. They will try to place me with my first choice, else second, et cetera, et cetera.

So yeah, Harvard, Yale, et cetera are nice but not in the ISEP program. I don't have to pay for any school though, I just pay the tuition for my school for the full year and everything else is covered.

And UNCA is part of a consortium, and depending on course availabillity they can place me at any other Universities within that consortium (being all the other UNC and a couple of others). But I will check it out.

Edit: 404, you really should gimme an email or something!

If you can apply to SCSU, why not any other community schools in CT. If you care to look into it, check out Eastern CT. Far better program and much less likely that you will be held down and raped by Mr. Mustafalese on your way to class. Also not in the ghetto like Southern is.

            Read his whole original post.
In my opinion SCSU has the best business program of the CT state schools.
SCSU is not a community college.

I cant help you with any of the schools you listed since those are all East and I'm West coast, but I can give you a very good site to check out:

              http://www.princetonreview.com/colle...nkingsBest.asp

It just published the 2008 list of "best colleges in the US." What's nice is it gives scores based on what students say, so hopefully you will get a nice idea. Here are two blurbs on what it says about Elmhurst, for example (make sure after you search for a school you click "what students say" on the far left):

              Student Body
Most of the students at Elmhurst College are "from the suburbs of Chicago and are somewhat stereotypically suburban." "Half of the school lives on campus, the other half of the school commutes," one undergrad observes, adding that "it is hard to get involved in clubs and organizations if you are a commuter because none of the events or activities occurs during the daytime." Residents, on the other hand, "are very involved in organizations, such as athletics, Greek life and student government." Most are also "concerned about their schoolwork" and "where their lives are going." The ratio of women to men here is nearly two to one.

              Campus Life
Students agree that Elmhurst's location is optimal. Downtown Elmhurst offers "nice restaurants, a movie theater, bowling lanes, and just casual places to pass time," while nearby Chicago provides "a lot of advantages job-wise and entertainment-wise." As one undergrad observes, "We're close enough to Chicago for cultural and educational purposes but far enough away that crime is not a real threat." Then there's the "beautiful" campus, "a registered arboretum" with "many varieties of trees and bushes." The campus is "simply gorgeous with lots of cute squirrels hopping around. In the center of campus is a big green grassy area called The Mall, and students hang out there during the warmer months." Students love how "The buildings of the campus are all close, so no matter how bad the parking is, you'll never have to walk very far." That's especially important during the long, cold winters here. Athletics are huge and almost 60 percent of incoming freshman males are athletes. Extracurricular clubs and organizations are also popular, at least among the resident population. Some commuters complain that they need access to "more activities."

This because they cant guarantee a placement with your number one choice. Anyway I am looking at the following Universities:

                    Elmhurst College Illinois
                    Edgewood College Wisconsin
                    Roanoke College Virginia
                    Virginia Tech
                    West Virginia University
                    Butler University Indiana
                    Ball State University Indiana
                    Southern Connecticut State University
                    Mars Hill College North Carolina
                    Eckerd College Florida

And I was wondering if you guys/girls could give me some feedback on these (distort on VT?), what are positive points, what are negative points, what about the surroundings/area, are any of these really religious (as in everyone attends the college church on Sunday, bible reading before class, etc.) how are the facilities, how is the reputation education wise. Anything you guys/girls could give me about these Universities would be awesome. Seeing as I also have to write a whole 'Why I want to go there' essay for each separate University.

My main focus is on Business, but I can basically take any course I want. I will mainly focus on Business though, with possibly 1 or 2 psychology classes.

(note, I can only choose Universities on this list: Universities, so suggesting others would be nice, but I cant apply to those)
btw why are asking distort about VT if its not on the list stop contradicting yourself !
