    POINT:
A few centuries ago, hubble discovered that all galaxies were redshifting.
this meant that they were all moving away from ours at considerable speed.

one of two assumptions could be made from this:
either we are at the center of the universe, or that the universe is expanding, and all galaxies would percieve the same.

if the universe is indeed expanding, this would be a large scale force.
    the universe would expand.
however, objects such as you and me would be held together by a small scale force, which we know as gravity.

    COUNTERPOINT:
the theory of relativity dictates that any measurement of expansion would be undetectable, as the instruments would be expanding as well.

    you choose...

most of these 'answers' are shit.
    doesnt anyone study astrophysics? =(
I DONT KNOW WHY THE FUCK I BOTHERED TO TYPE THIS, IM FUCKING BORED.
btw, maybe rhinos tiny penis would expand and be almost normal sized.

    Take 2-Hydrogen as an example.
its called 'deutrium'. fuck. it has a name.
and no, that isnt what the topic is about.

There is more to the universe than gavity. It now appears that dark energy and dark matter play an important role in how the universe is expanding.

If the universe doubled, time would have to change since distance and time are related.

Fuck I didn't know the hubble telescope was also a time machine

          who cares?

non-linearities and constants will destroy this theory

though relativity and stuff is kinda fun.

I never knew we were held together by gravity! Or that 2-H was called Deutrium instead of deuterium?! zomg, the knowledge!

I do not think it would change anything. Size is relative. If everything doubled, nothing relatively doubled, so there would be no actual change. So actually, it is meaningless to say the size of everything would double, because no difference would be discernible and if no difference is discernible than certainly everything is the same, a la Leibniz' prinicple.

For example, a meter is the length light travels in some amount of time. A meter would still be that length.
