Biggest pain you've ever felt

When I pulled my hamstring during track and was on the ground in pain, my other leg started cramping up badly, but I couldn't even move.. and it lasted for a good 5-10 minutes and seemed like a couple of hours.

Nothing else has even come close, not even the times where I dunked on 9 foot basketball hoop, got my mouth on the rim and one of my side teeth was forcibly removed from my mouth (this was fixed, excellent oral surgeon, no problems now) or the time where I slammed a car door on my fingernail so hard that it didn't grow back for a good two years.

Oh, just thought of something else -- I had 12 wisdom teeth removed in December, but that wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, especially in comparison to everything above. Yes, I said 12 - normal is 4, anything above that is extremely rare. (I had two people on my dad's side of my family that had more than 4, but not as many as 12).

Lots of bleeding there, and the swelling lasted for a few months, and the holes are still there (and probably will be for a long time, seeing as how much bone and tissue they had to cut out). Good stuff. The pain was annoying too, but surprisingly enough, probably not worse than having 4 removed.

And besides that, I am in good shape and I have a strong body. As mentioned I have had my share of falls and stupid stuff, fell out of a tree once, nothing broken, nothing badly hurt. I am hardly ever sick, last time was like 5 years ago.

So all in all, I should be a stuntman.

It doesn't automaticly mean that you have a strong body if you haven't been seirously injured before. It just means that you didn't fell hard enough.

And you don't look like the kind that does wild things. I bet running to the fridge is exercise for you.

I do however train in Jiu-Jitsu , wrestleing, and samba and b/c you train in those forms of fighting doesn't mean you have to obtain cauliflower ear. Those ears are from training day in and day out at a dirty gym on dirty matts with dirty people.

Cauliflower ear is a condition when the ear gets a blow, injury, etc, and blood and fluid collect in a certain area on the ear. blablabla tissues and shit, and then the ear gets deformed.

It has nothing to do with dirty places or being infected at all.

i dont know anyone who has had 12 removed, but ive heard of 8's and other numbers that are just above 4.


something that hurt pretty bad... a few years ago (summer inbetween my jr and sr year of college, was at an internship near my home town) i was down by a cornfield for one reason or another. well, wind blew over the corn field and straight at me, it was a little dusty. i wasnt concerned at the time, just kidna felt like i got a little dust in my eyes. it jsut kept on bothering me more and more. i was wearing contacts that day but i took them out soon after the encounter with the cornfield because they were irritated a bit.

well, things got worse and worse and by the next morning i couldnt really open my eyes. i went to the eye doctor guy and he wondered if i had somehow accidentally sandblasted my eyes. turns out it was some sort of pesticide i guess. always awesome to get abrasive chemicals in your eyes.

for the next week i lived in the basement with blacked out windows and no lights. the light thing didnt matter a whole bunch though because i pretty much kept my eyes closed anyways. had to wear something called bandage contacts. theyre just oversized soft contacts with no perscription or anything. they cut down on the rubbing between my eyelids and my eyes.

yup... just kept my eyes closed and lounged about on the couch with nothing to do lolling in a codeine induced stupor. they gave me some pretty hefty pain killers... i tried saving some like i normally do, but couldnt... it hurt too much. but lets reiterate a little bit, normally pain is pain and i can deal wiht it just fine. unfortunately this was a little bit different. im not so accustomed to being blind, and i was often by myself... so there was nothing to do to distract myself a little bit from the inferno behind my eyelids.

eventually i had someone find me something easy to play music and cd's on when blind. the computer and normal stereo equipment were out of the question. so then it was me and my small boombox and various cd's i could find around my parents house. most of my music was on my computer (which using was out of the question) or back at school. finally had someone go to the library and find some audiobooks to really make the hours pass.

but here i am, no real scarring or any long term problems. all in all, i would rather not go through it again. in fact, just recalling and writing this has caused my eyes to water quite a bit.

Worst pain ever was when I fell down the stairs face first and shattered my two front teeth and sliced my lip open... boourns.

Also - one time when I was like 12 a friend dared me to take laxatives, nothing happened... until at 3am I woke up in insane pain, after an awesome time on the toilet i passed out on the floor in the fetal position. Awesome $

i only have two things...one i can't remember but i'm guessing it was painful.

the first one was when i was 6 months old. i was walking around in one of those things where the baby sits in a circular thing on wheels with his feet on the ground and he can walk around in it. i went into the bathroom when my mom was curling her hair and pulled on the coord. the curling iron fell onto my shoulder and my natural reaction was to slam my neck onto it (kind of like when u hold a phone to your head without any hands). it was a 3rd degree burn and i had to go to the ER and i have about a 3" scar on my neck.

the second thing happened from taking protein shakes. i got an excess of protein build up in my big toe and it swelled really bad. the doctor diagnosed me with psuedogout which means "fake" gout pretty much. they gave me psuedo gout instead of gout because only old unhealthy people typically get it. its a type of arthritis and it hurts like a fucking bitch. every heartbeat sends a throbbing pain to my toe and putting even as much pressure as a bed sheet on it almost made me cry. its happened to me twice so far and i'll have it for the rest of my life so hopefully it doesn't come back...

When I was younger I would basically always have a bruise or a cut or something like that somewhere. I have had falls from 3/4 metres high to pavement, still nothing but cuts and bruises. I just have a strong body.

Worst indirect pain must've been from a practice in the military. 3 days out in extreme cold @-40 celsius with wind blowing at you. Marching, taking a piss, shitting, setting up the tents, sleeping, it was a horrible experience. It felt like your dick froze the moment you pulled it out to take a piss, and it probably did too.

Been times when we we're outside for over 2 weeks straight, but never in such a weather.

Water freeze at 0 celsius, up to -25 celsius is ok. -40 celsius with wind is fucking inhuman, and should be against the human rights.

is that three fourths of a meter or 3 or 4 meters? because if youre making a habit out of falling from heights over 10 feet to pavement... thats just dumb. but if youre falling from a height of 3/4 of a meter... well, i would hope one wouldnt cripple themselves too bad... thats like falling out of bed

i thought this thread was about one single instance of pain, not lots of different things that have hurt :turned:

but im bored, so why not.

When i was 6ish i was riding my BMX bike down this really steep paved hill. (we lived at the top) About halfway down the hill i hit a manhole cover that wasnt completely closed, flew over the handlebars, faceplanted into the asfalt, and slid about 4 meters on my face (good thing i had a helmet, saved my life).
The skin from the top of my forehead to about my eyebrows tore off, as did the skin from my nose and my jaw, that hurt like a bitch.

What hurt even more was at the hospital where the nurse decided to disinfect my face without giving me any kind of painkillers, I still remember how it burned.

At about 8 i was in the park with my friends, playing something or other, when a fat kid (think whale) jumped from the top of the jungle gym onto my shoulders, snapped my collar bone in a few places. Hurt Pretty Bad, and i had to wear a very queer pink brace for a very long time.

At about 12 i was messing around by the pool in the rain, decided itd be smart to take a running leap from the diving board at about 4m. I slipped on the run up, slid on my shin down to the end of the board and fell into the pool.
A good 10cm or so of my shin was exposed, took about 3 months to heal.

14ish playing baseball for the school team, got into it with one of the other team, he grabbed a metal baseball bat and pelted me in the face with it. Broken Jaw, now my jaw crackles and pops every time i open my mouth.

16ish i was playing rugby for the college team (Highschool), I was down with the ball, got out of the ruck just fine, when i was getting up one of the opposing team decided itd be a good idea to test out his steel cleats, kicked me in the back of the neck, hairline fracture of one of my vertebrae and some sort of ligament damage, now my neck crackles and pops like the 4th of july.


17ish, getting a bit too cocky on my dirtbike, figured id try and do something cool, like maybe a backflip (yes, smart move there einstein), anyhow, i fucked it up royally, bike landed ontop of me and one of the foot pins/braces (wtf?) came down on my right leg, soft part just below the knee, more exposed bone, more fractures.

19, in the army, training exercise, we were shooting wooden blanks (they spray wooden debris out of the barrel) at imaginary enemies. OK, i had to change magazine, so i told my "partner" that im out, and going to reload, I crouched down in the foxhole and started to change mags, when this retard decides now is a good time to also crouch down in the foxhole, the barrel of his rifle is now next to my head, and he fires a round.
Debris flew into my right eye, stung like a motherfucker, and knowing the quality of the army medics, i didnt get any medical help. Nice burning senstaion for a good day and a half.

none of those have hurt half as much as fucking up my ACL.

had a wart on the buttom of my foot...went to the doc...he told me to come 10 times for treatment every week, he used some smoked ice and held the shooting gun to the wart for like 2 minutes straight
it felt like my flesh was burning, insane pain...something u cant really explain in physical terms...

other shit is....dunno to how many this happened but i have no clue whats wrong with me...i would sit in a position and everything would be fine...but than lets say i reach for something and the second i move, i get this extreme sharp pain in my stomach or around that area like someone took a knife and pierced me....it makes my whole body just stop and im scared to move....feels like imma rip my organs if i make any movements....all i can explain is it feels like sharp sharp object just penetrated me through the stomach...redicilous, some say i might have a kidney stone but it doesnt hurt when i pee so i dunno....

The picture/s of you doesn't exactly scream ALPHA MALE as you're implying, you're just a regular chubby guy. And the reason you haven't been getting injured yet is because you DIDN'T FALL HARD ENOUGH.
