Feelings (sad, mad, frustrated) obviously exist, but in my head, it is impossible to know that someone thinks you look nice, but at the same time, "feel" that they don't think you look nice.

Edit Edit: EVEN MORE CRAZY SHIT: When I tell a woman "I don't care," in her mind it literally means that I don't care! What I really meant (and what all guys understand) is "Do what you want to do." WTF.

Yeah, but "do what you want to do" pretty much means "I don't care" when what the girl wants is to find something that you both will enjoy to do/eat/whatever. She knows that you do care about her but she is annoyed that you don't understand that in this particular instance, when she asks what you want to do/eat, she wants a particularly romantic dinner/activity that you both will be excited about. Of course she might ask the question in the exact same tone of voice that she asks when she really wants tacos, and shoots down all your dinner ideas until you finally get to tacos, but you're supposed to know the difference, damn you.

Being that irrational must be really shitty so I do my best to feel sorry for them instead of getting pissed off about it. Still, I have this weird notion that not all girls are like this even though every single girl I've ever met is exactly like this. It's not like it's just that I can't communicate with them because I'm a dude, either, all the girls I know are pretty much awful friends to each other as well. Oh well.

edit: Obviously, in a romantic relationship guys have an equal amount of shortcomings. I mean, honestly, we don't care about a lot of stuff. That's shitty. But in terms of platonic friendships, man, girls are the worst.
