They exist, get over it, move on. Stop complaining about the poor arab terrorists that want to blow you up because their 99 virgins in heaven are the only way they can get laid. If the arabs starve because they support the terrorists, then good, let them. The people are the ones that make governments, and if their government is full of terrorists, well thats their own fault.

All of the middle-east is unstable, not just Isreal. Isreal is unstable only because of the Arab nations around them causing trouble.

Countries like Dubai are the richest in the world, and have the best standard of living of almost every country. At least half the people living there are not of Arab descent and they live alongside Arabs in peace, without car bombings and things like that. This is because the people did not allow terrorists to run the country.

Palastinians deserve no help unless they help themselves... aka not allowing terrorists to run things.

two things of agreement:

1) The Arabs have more problems between themselves, specially with Iran as a rising force.

2) Palestinians deserve help, but in my opinion, Israel or some other National force, should supervise where the huge amount of money that they get go to.

Plus many of the workers are being employed and paid rather well by the govt. to help construct all of the massive projects they have planned.

As soon as they're finished though, all of those people are going to be displaced or pushed into slums when wealthy business owners begin to move in. We all saw and continue to see how well that worked for Rio.

fair enough. I didn't really mean that they made a lot of wealth, just that the people are happy, or at least satisfied with the govt. because they provide them with jobs and aren't hostile.

But I could be wrong. I don't doubt for a second that you know more on the topic than I do.

general happiness really is race and class dependant in Dubai and the UAE (sadly).

prety much every single local (i.e. UAE born) is very happy.

most white folk are very happy, since they generally get a good income.

educated "asians" are "content", they have a job that pays decently (though they have to undercut caucaisians if they want to work, and they generally (not all by any means, but racism and a staught social structure is very much in place in the UAE) are treated as "inferior".

uneducated "asians" are content in that they make more than they do back home, but they have absolutely no rights and are treated as slaves.

with no freedom of speech or freedom of media, its not something that is actively discussed or talked about.

there have been a few riots of the "lower class" workforce, things of that nature, but they are generally easy to control in the UAE, mass deportation is common, so are impounding cars/apartments/houses etc.

there is quite a lot of talk on some of the UAE forums i still visit among the expat (mostly indian/pakistani/bangladeshi/sri-lankan) community about how fed up they are with the UAE gvmnts policies. Particularly ownership and work related issues. I.e. expats can "buy" property, but officially it is a 99year lease, after which the gvt will take back your house and re-sell it (ok you wont live 99 years, but your kids wont have the chance to live in the home you made).

plus pensioners are deported anyway.

Work permits and Visa applications are tough on non caucasians, many firms have contracts, where a person is not allowed to change jobs for X amount of years, if they do so their assets will be impounded and they will be deported.

Going into business for "yourself", is still Impossible (unless its in the free zone), as you still require a local sponsor, who will get 51% ownership of your company, and basically has to do nothing but be born there, so if he wants to he can sell your company from under you, fire you, etc.
this will change in the years to come, UAE as a country is still very new, last year they celebrated their 37th anniversary, progress takes time...

What about the archaeological findings that link the Jewish people to Israel? What about tradition? Every nation have tradition and history, and the Jewish history is linked far more than any other nations to the area where Israel is.

You need a history lesson, considering that Sadaam was a pawn of the U.S. to begin with, in our putting him in power and the fact that the U.S. created the mess in Iraq dating back to the late 60's early 70's with the C.I.A.'s help in the staged overthrow of the government they had. Odd how B.P. (British Petroleum) financed much of this, as they did with Iran and the U.S. put the puppet Shah in power. B.P. had complete control of the exported oil and revenues and the peoples got nothing...except the Shah, and people wonder why they revolted in Iran & hate the West...odd how the Iranian hostage crisi in the 70's happened on teh Anniv. of the U.S> putting the Shah in power along with B.P. getting 100% control over their oil revenues.

The recent decade of military conflicts that the U.S. has been involved in are basically summed up to cleaning up the mess we created in the first place, from South America to the Middle East. Noriega anyone?

They really should in many cases when the disputed lands come into question. There are many that are fighting for this and when you consider the U.S. honors the likes of Pres. Andrew Jackson on a $20 it kind of makes you sick. This is the president that violated every treaty with the Indian's and was responsible for the "trail of tears".

So what does the U.S. Govt. do? They allow the Indian's to have Casino's WooHoo!

The U.S. preaches tolerance to the world and just look at the political make-up of the U.S. during this Presidential run. The prejudice upon race is amazing and hypocritical for what this nation stands for.
