For once, and possibly only this once, I agree with you.

thank you kind sir, your input is greatly appreciated.
I know for a fact 1 person can get 150 dollars a month in food stamps, then for each additional family member 50-100 dollars

      a family of 7 were getting 600 a month

That's really not much money to speak of. USA is an economical superpower and yet so many people live in poverty. I think the whole welfare argument is laughable and so is the border issue. First the border was militarized by Clinton in 1994 (the year when NAFTA was passed) and now a wall is going to be built. What’s the next step, a giant bullet proof bubble? Way to solve the real issues!

Ok since youre all for giving people 'only 100 dollars a month' so they can eat, just send me 100 dollars a month. I could use that extra money to eat. I'm even willing to write up a bullshit story so you can feel bad for me

I agree with you, there are some that come here and try to live of our social programs but there also those who want to work for their share of the pie. I think Canada's a piggy bank for those who want to be lazy, free health care, free education (just not college/uni but if you make N-O-T-H-I-N-G and apply to our provincial assistance program for school they'll probably give you all your money in bursaries and grants). The sad part is that as a student if I don't work this summer I'm eligible for 3000 extra on my OSAP, it's not something i'd have to pay back either but instead I'm working and will make 500 less than I would if I sat at home. I think it's human nature, why work when I can do nothing and collect the same amount of money? I don't even think this problem is geared towards one race or culture, we're all users. I'm all for helping people but these social programs need to be re-assessed and re-defined, we need to decide who can be on what and for how long. I'm not trying to boot off everyone from these programs, just those who abuse it.

from my stand point the vast majority come here not knowing that a) you can't be a doctor here if you were a doctor in most countries b) most jobs require either practical or theoretical experience in this or other western nations. I think people come to this country on a false pre-tense that you don't have to work for something, but just as my girlfriend's parents experienced their degrees from top-notch Indian Universities were not even looked at when applying to jobs. I feel bad for people that come here with solid education and are lead to believe that they will find jobs in that field, and most times I've seen their hope and drive fall apart. I think there is a good percentage that want to work for whatever they'll get to give their children a better life. Those are the adults working 9-5 and weekends, but they're also the ones in night school trying to get a better education to land themselves a decent paying job.

Why would anyone decide to go to a new country with the intention to do nothing and get a lousy 100 bucks a month for food? That NAFTA has ruined Mexico could perhaps answer it. Alltough integration and racism are other big problems like mentioned. People wouldn’t complain as long as they all come and work hard for below minimum wages and that their degrees are worth nothing and the welfare system shouldn’t apply to them etcetera.

In the Netherlands, official refugees aren't even allowed to work until they get a certain status. Which could even take up to 7-8 years until recently.
I did some paperwork for refugees and some of them really wanted to do something, but they weren't allowed. They could work illegally of course, but for some of them that just wasn't an option.
They would sit in the centre most of the day between traumatized refugees that became drug addicts. I think most people actually prefer to work; do something, rather than sit at home waiting for stamps. That's why most governments don't actually do something about immigrants, because those few complaining citizens are never going to cover the cost.

its more then 100, its 152 for 1 person then you have to add in their 10 children wife and grandma.
Then you can add in welfare, and bills we pay when they grafitti or commit crimes, or even when they need hospitalization. Someone has to pay for it. Not to mention they dont pay taxes. And it costs money to deport them. So they contribute nothing to society other then a few buildings.

i think i lean towards more of an open border policy. if youre able to come into the country and support you and your family while following all of the laws, i fully support anyone wishing to come. it is your responsibility to understand and obey all the laws (yes, even if you dont speak english, luckily that isnt a huge deal.)

come here and follow the laws while recognizing you arent a citizen and what that implies. i see nothing wrong with that.

Everyone knows terrorists get into the US through Canada. Put the wall there instead. It would be far longer and, consequently, far more awesome. Also, it would lower the number of Ameritards coming up into the land of the free.
