I think this is why I have a lot of respect for Obama, he addressed the fact that going to New York from Texas feels like you're entering a different country. It's time to stop bullshitting yourselves that racism isn't an issue in your country. The country is divided, since the 'war of nothern aggression'.

For one, there are a ton of differences in the North and the South, not denying that. But for someone that knows nothing about a place that I have lived for 24 years of my life to talk openly about it being racist, that my friend is bullshit. You and Obama both don't know shit about where I'm from, nor do you know about the people who live here. I'm also not denying that there is no racism, because that is foolish and I did not say that at all. I'm just trying to let you know that it is no more prevalent in the south than in the north.

Lets step back for a second and remember that Obama is a Senator from one of the most segregated cities in the country. There is a reason why we refer to Chicago as having a north side and a south side. And oh yea, that city is about as far north as you can get.

Also, I don't give a damn how much speculative bullshit you think it is, he would have voted for those bills just like everyone else for fear of being labeled un-American. By the way, Obama voted for the patriot act when it was renewed in 2006.

I never said racism was worse in the south compared to the north, you're confused. I also don't know anything about a place I've been to, well that makes lots of sense. If you knew anything about me, you'd know that I've said really nice and great things about people from the south, but I've also said critical things when they needed to be said. The truth is the south generally votes republican, this is a fact. The south tends to vote out of tradition, just like the North. There's idiots everywhere, I never said or made any sort of suggestion that the south had anymore idiots or radicals than the North.

I don't see a need to get into whether the civil war was necessary or not, but you know calling it a war of 'northern aggression' has been used before to piss off people from the North. I think out of respect it's just not cool to say, it's like calling our health care system 'socialized health care' and not Universal Health Care. These words are used for a reason.

The short-version:
End the Iraq war and reinvest the funds into our economy. I want socialized health care and socialized education, including money for higher level learning for all people. He supports both of those things adamantly and is the only politician at this level not afraid to speak about the white elephant in the room: Corporate Lobbyists.

Saying that only old people and cubans vote Republican is so wrong. Correct me if i'm wrong, but did George Bush pretty much carry the south, oh I don't know, the last two campaigns? I know he carried Florida!

Jeb Bush had been running Florida then, old people were alive then, cubans were coming into florida illegally and then taking control and not get sent back home because they vote for big brother bush.

florida is just as bad as any other state trust me, we did that stupid bush recount incident so it is technically our fault. But trust, that the tides are turnin in favor to youth, and minorities whose populace is so strong that they are now the majority.
