w/e you decide on doing, it's best that you DO affiliate it with local school districts. These people will be the ones you want to help, so it might be best to go through the schools. They might be willing to give you space and materials on the weekend or in the afternoon.

6-7 yrs ago, my local middle school started technology classes for the community. It was aimed at teaching parents and kids without computers basic stuff like how to use a mouse and how to open progams, etc. It was run by the community, for the community. No teachers helped, but the school did let them use the computer lab, internet, and some typing books.

You might be able to borrow some French books from the school district and use a spare classroom. They might even let you use a tv/cd player or w/e you need to teach. Also, they could advertise your class so that you'd actually get people to come to it.

Or do it at the library, paradise; they have a bunch of random classes there and they advertise them in the paper.
