Stayon> That type of thing, when you're married for 50 years but you know you fucked up when you dropped chilli sause on your elitist rich boss, while crossing the cafeteria's lunch zone, getting you fired, because you were distracted admiring the cleaning lady's ass that you beated off to, when your sluggish wife and two retarted kids were asleep.

There are just as many people ready and willing to accept the bible as flawed as there are people who are ready and willing to accept it as being inerrant.
Now, as someone who belongs to that second world view, what I know about this new codex suggests that even though it is an ancient manuscript, there are scrolls/writings that predate it by a long shot. Now, what I think is interesting is that this "rival" bible is a collection of works that bear resembelance to Christianity and the true bible - which has me assuming that maybe the new codex was written for a particular denomination/sect/cult at the time. Much like the Jehova's witnesses' New World Translation bible, which has a lot of misleading information: http://www.towerwatch.com/Witnesses/...ranslation.htm
In any case, it should be interesting when scholars tear into the new codex to determine how much of it was canonized, how authentic the date, author, and penmanship are, etc etc.TelCat> i am a slut not a hoe

There are like 50+ versions of the Bible today and they all vary quite a bit.. Some being released now dont even mention Satan.. But it is irrelevant.
If any of you bother to read scripture of any sort, you should realise it's message lies on a subconscious/spiritual level.
No where does it say "these are factual stories".
Read some Carl Jung if you want an idea of how scripture may truelly be interpreted.
Regarding Adam and Eve, what it could be portraying is that partnership is achieved through partial sacrifice of one's self...
Regarding "carbon dating".. God created time ffs, His "7 days" could be 100,000,000,000 human years... It was never meant to be taken literally by spritually-sterile nerds who refuse to consider anything beyond what they cannot fabricate within a cotrolled environment (their conscious).
And who said evolution and creation cant co-exist?.. Scripture says that God created everything from dirt (carbon)... So we started out as dirt, then he made 1 cell organisms and worked his way out.. pretty fucking simple.sigpic

I find it funny that I talk shit to pretty much everyone on the forums, and people still dislike you even more, even though you jump on whatever band wagon the majority is on. You see the thing is Cops, I would rather have people respect me for pointing out my differences than to agree with people in order to try to gain respect, grudgingly given praise from an enemy is much better than false praise from someone you mimic.Rabble Rabble Rabble

Though Darwins theory is very plausible and has never been falsified (I personally believe in evolution), you cannot say that it is an undeniable fact. You, nor anyone else, knows everything about everything. It is really all about faith.
If we take a close look at science, there are lots of different thoughts on how science should work (something is true until it is falsified, something is true when you can prove it with data) so there isn't even one consensus on what is best within the world of science itself (and really, interpreting data is just that, interpreting it. People draw their own conclusions given a set of data, other people can draw different conclusions from it, who is to say who is right).
Obviously it gets really philosophical to question everything in this world and I think that people should just think what they want to think, whether it be pure science, a god, the bible. As long as they don't harass or invade other peoples rights to think what they want to think, other peoples freedom, it is all fine with me.
Personally, I am a guy of science, I do not believe in any religion. But I think positive things can be gotten from all religions and I think there is stuff out there that science just cant explain. Not a god, but something more than just physics.Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

I really don't give a fuck what you think about me, and it's kind of funny that you claim I mimic opinions when you come across as a neo-conservative christian shit bag.

Hahah, hilarious. If you don't believe in the Bible or Christianity, sucks to be you, open your eyes. But I'm not going around trashing you for your overwhelming "ignorance" or calling people "atheist/agnostic shitbags". Grow up and shut up, honestly.JAMAL> didn't think there was a worse shark than midoent but the_paul takes it
