yeah I do it alot, the trick is to get up real early and call in so your sure no one will actually pick up the phone so u dont have to give an excuse. I usually just say "im sick" , then I turn off all my phones so they cant call me back LOL. it only works at about 5 a.m. though, if they answer then im screwed cause they always make me come in and i feel like an idiot.

ROFL i did EXACTLY the same shit back in the day, EXACTLY...call like 20 mins before anyone gets in LOL, was much easier than lying while talking to ur bos

i have been legitimately sick many times on a monday. everytime they say "oh that's ok, feel better, see you tomorrow". Everytime the next day it's like "oh, felt like a 3 day weekend, hunh?" or "musta been partying too hard the other night, right?"

I hope you're not planning on using them as a reference, or that you're not planning on working in the same area again. This sort of thing is a BAD idea. I've specifically not hired people because of references like this.

I actually used my direct manager and another co-worker as a reference (I was friends with them). I'm not exactly sure if the company itself put me on a "blacklist" somewhere. Whatever it is, my TSI clearance procedures at the DOJ didn't pick anything up.

Still... best thing I've ever done.

Who the fuck would use a place where they just walked out or quit i guess if they knew somebody but still it shows up as job abandonment

I guess I was surprised too, but I've seen otherwise "intelligent" people do this. Apparently they've thought that the job title was more important than how they left, or they didn't think I'd actually call references. I've also had the other instance, where word just gets around about certain people being inconsistent.

I'm not saying that storming out of Mickey D's is going to ruin your career, but a consultantcy? Not smart.

when i moved into a flat we were only given one key between they two of us

so we arranged to leave the door open and since my flatmate was working an early shift he took the key so after work he could get it cut and by the next day we'd have one each. EASY

so i get up to go to work get dressed etc go to open the door and lo and behold it's locked .... i go to get my mobile to ring and it's completely out of credit ... so i'm locked in my flat i had shit to do in work i couldn't contact anyone !!!

i was abosultely livid since we went through all this the night before and i kept saying to him not to lock the door obviously ...

after a while i accept my fate and my flatmate has a box of beer and a gamecube so i hook that up and start drinking since he isn't due back till 15:00

then a mutual friend rang me up asking why i hadn't responded to his e-mails in work and i wasd KAFBABIBIAUB Tell Sam he is a asjbgosbegoasegbogbnoagnboigbsoinegoesibnhgonhgosn hgoighn ! locked me in the asoubgosuebgoeuf !!!

then he came round with sam and we had more beer and i went into work the next day and i told my story leaving out the drinking beer and playing games all day as that would loose sympathy..

i still get mocked about it to this day in work - i feel this is unfair as this was totaly outside my control and just my flatmate is a retard !
