well this was the best outcome in my opioion I was collecting econemist quotes to help me argue my point but seems pointless now that we are just waiting till the Jan. 27 budget
I would just like to point out that no Americans are getting involved in the actual discussion that's going on here (just the few that are saying Canada sucks), maybe this sentiment should be returned when us Americans are discussing our country and its politics.
YES INSTEAD OF TELLING US HOW OUR GOVERNMENT RUNS ID RATHER U TALK SHIT ABOUT IT. thx
Its interesting times in which we live in. It seems a whole generation of people (the fucking baby boomers who are running everything now have all our money and have fucked up our world) have forgotten the lessons of the past...
We are going to be the ones who have to fix this shitfest.
We will get to witness the rise of a new world order.
I also fear will see the rise of fashism and totalitarism once more. People are using the "crisis" and "fear" to pursue power. Whilst we have our "freedom" on the internet (for now) our freedoms in the real world are being erroded.
I unfortunatly I also suspect that we will also see WWIII in our lifetimes.
So my message is relativly simple. Enjoy your life now, take every oppertunity available to you to do thinks you want to do...do what makes you happy...take some fucking risks...don't sit there wondering "what might have been"...or "if only i had done that"...because things are going to get real shitty in the next few years....So when the time comes you will be able to say...it was fun while it lasted
Think things are bad now? you aint seen nothing yet. This is but..the start...

CBC is going to lay off 1000 - 1500 jobs. I might as well get a new career at this point, there's too many people and not enough jobs.
I'm sorry to hear that Cops. So many industries are getting hammered at the moment, it's a shame everyone can't have a degree in business or IT to fall back on. The world will always need analysts...

It's not official yet but CBC will lose shows like Little Mosque on the Prairie, Heartland, etc. They're going to be strictly News and Sports. My mother has high seniority in the Peel Board and my brother (Kolar) can get a job in IT easily, so my family around me is looking fine. I'm just going to start having to pay off my student loans next year. That's going to be hard with no job prsospects and tons of people with a lot more job experience than me. I'll probably end up working in a grocery store for 4-5 months...
I'm hoping that my internship in January leads to a job, any job. Since CBC will make cuts they'll need more interns to do more. Once the economy starts rolling and we hopefully have a stronger more competent government in place I might see my internship lead into a job. The only issue I'm having is that can I really spend an entire year interning (working for free) on the hopes of them giving me a job? Especially when starting September next year OSAP wants their first loan payment (student loan payment).

The thing that really gets me down right now is that I did what I was suppose to do, I went into debt to get an education and worked hard, harder than a lot of people. Right now it's time to figure out what the hell I can do, seeing as I'm only 21 and I can live with one of my parents it's a lot easier for me to figure out how to deal with this situation.
I might end up having to go back to school to avoid loan payments, hopefully when I graduate with a higher level of education it will be easier to find myself a job.
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did
Yeah, a backup plan right now is key. I think I'll apply to U of T for next September. I was thinking of getting a double major in English and Political Science. I think I might be able to knock a year or two off with my Diploma.
The original plan was to work for a year or two and make as much money as possible, while gaining amazing work experience. I was then going to apply to University and spend two years getting a degree, then an additional year getting my masters.
